Songs From The Abacab Tour
« Thread started on: Mar 8th, 2010, 07:21am » |

A have a question about the Abacab tour. Last night I was watching parts of the Mama Tour dvd, including "Keep It Dark". Did they play "Keep It Dark" on the Abacab tour? What was their general set list for that tour?

Wow, that's a great setlist, a nice mix of old and new. I see that a few songs were left off of Three Sides Live.

And a further encore of the Knife for the last of the NEC shows. THe one where all the balloons come down at the end of the 3SL video, I'm reliably informed. No expanse spared.

Hi there
Apparently the reason why the band didn't play Keep It Dark on the Abacab tour was because they felt it was too awkward to come across live. Thank god they changed their minds on the next tour because I love that song.

Some of these songs actually where released later on various sources. Man on the corner and no reply at all where both on the 3SL video, aswel as on Archives 2. Who dunnit? was on the 3SL video too. Firth of Fifth was released on "the best of 81-83" and on various singles.
The other songs where already on the previous live record (which was Seconds Out).
They later switched some of the songs for Suppers ready (it was already 1982 encore tour here) and they also did paperlate and no reply at all a couple of times with the EWF Horn section (I believe in LA).

Occasionally, they would substitute "Like It Or Not" in place of "Me & Sarah Jane".
