I can't believe that, as I write, it is now exactly five years from the last Hollywood Bowl shows, and the end of the last tour. Appropriately, there was some rain in Southern California yesterday (10/12). grin

Indeed it is scary how quickly the 5 years have gone since the TIOA Tour. undecided

I was lucky enough to go to this show and it was such a great night. Phil's speech was moving. Hard to believe it has been 5 years. I wish this one had been filmed, the Hollywood Bowl never looked so beautiful!

Rich, although I only saw the first night (my second child had just been born and I decided to concentrate all of my then limited funds all on one show with a Pool Circle ticket, 5 rows from Tony) I agree that the Hollywood Bowl has never looked finer. The misty rain during Afterglow through the hazy lights on stage is something I will never forget, along with their excellent performance in spite of the rain right to the end, only leaving out the encores and WAY beyond the quitting time of other bands soaked by rain. I really wish they would have filmed the two shows professionally, although I am glad that they eventually released the shows on CD. (If you remember, the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden shows were initially not going to be released as part of the Encore Series.)

Yep, 5 years since the last Genesis tour. The same amount of time that passed between A Trick of the Tail and Abacab! Time is a strange, strange thing.
