What songs were you hoping for but never got the chance to hear?

I wanted to hear Duchess, That's All, Dancing With the Moonlight Knight, Keep it Dark, and Entangled.

P.S. First post! grin

Happy with the current set and I understand they had to please a whole heap of differing tastes but I was hoping for that "never before played live" track that they kept teasing us with.

I believe it was meant to be MANY TOO MANY and I wished they had done it (it was apparently tried but dropped pretty quickly at the Swiss rehearsal). undecided

Other tracks that would have been realistically nice to hear would have been ...

Dance On A Volcano
Final part of Supper's Ready
Duchess
Fading Lights
The Lamb/Musical Box (closing section)

I was hoping for a bit more from W&W but I can't complain really because they played two full cuts from my favourite album - Trick - and a few cool bits from the great DUKE album!

I guess for me I wished they would have played 'Dance On A Volcano' into 'Los Endos' and made it the end of the set.

It just felt weird when the finished LE and then carried on undecided

great, welcome smiley

there are many songs I wish I'd heard, but I was pretty happy with the setlist.
When you compare it to the WCD 92 Tour, it's heaps better IMO

I would have liked, or would like to hear from them in the future (I have an optimistic moment smiley)
- Burning Rope
- Dance on a Volcano
- Man on the Corner (ye, yes, I know.... grin)
- second part of Supper's Ready (with all these boots I've been listeing to the last couple of weeks, I start to appreciate it!)
- Lady Lies
- Dodo/Lurker
- The full Behind the Lines -Guide Vocal - Dukes Travels and Dukes end stuff WITH I am the one who guide you this far...

and so many more...

Yeah. The setlist rocked (even though I didn't get Duchess, which I also wasn't expected). The only actual issue with the setlist was the order..

Half the audience had no clue that Carpet Crawlers was their second encore and were left waiting after the lights went up.

Overall, I don't think there was much I could have faulted with the set-list. I'm not at all fussed on 'Invisible Touch' or 'I Can't Dance' on the albums but in concert, I think they work a bit better. My favourite Genesis tracks- 'Ripples', 'In The Cage' and 'The Cinema Show'(the solo at least)- were all aired, and it was a revelation to hear just how well the 80s material like 'Mama', 'Home By The Sea' and 'Domino' stood up in such exalted company (Hugh Fielder made the same point in his Classic Rock magazine review last month). I've definitely re-evaluated their 80s albums this year...

However, as for songs I'd love to have heard:

Fading Lights
Many Too Many
One For The Vine
The Musical Box
Blood On The Rooftops

Would have been nice to get the full length versions of 'Firth Of Fifth' and 'Tonight Tonight Tonight', and (a minor gripe) for all of 'Home By The Sea' to be in the same key rather than the first part being a different one to the second; the same arrangement was used on the CAS tour.

But really, my complaints are few and far between. With a few exceptions (somebody was moaning about songs like 'Can Utility And The Coastliners' not being played, in all seriousness!), even the prog forums have had people really dazzled by this tour. Definitely the best set-list they've put together for many a year, IMHO.

I felt the same way about "I Can't Dance." Not their best song on WCD, but in this show, it's phenomenal.

I think there are several songs I would have liked to hear:

One for the Vine
Heathaze
a full version of Stagnation (though I think one needs Peter Gabriel to sing that one)

Blood on the Rooftops
Squonk
a full version of Cinema Show
Mad Man Moon
That's All (sorry- but I love that song)
The Lady Lies
Dance on A Volcano
Me and Sarah Jane
Entangled
