Genesis Revisited 2

looks like this might be Steve's 'surprise' solo project, then!
http://somethingelsereviews.com/2012/01/11/something-else-interview-guitarist-steve-hackett-formerly-of-genesis/
Surely a new version of Carpet Crawlers is a dead cert for this? Hope Steve does the majority of the singing this time round sans vocal effects.
Just wondering what others would like to hear 're-imagined'?
Hairless Heart and After The Ordeal with the Underworld Orchestra would be great IMHO.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not a big fan of most of what Steve did on the "first" GENESIS REVISITED. So I can't really imagine other songs that I'd want him to give similar treatment to.
BTW, he says he did 9 albums with Genesis. The correct figure would be 7... unless he knows something we don't?

Another Genesis Revisited? Bring it on!
Especially another unfinished PG era track. That was the best song on the album.

I loved the first, so here's hoping it's at least as good. BTW, if you rip the Jap and "rest of world" version of the first, you can produce a full version, which sadly at 80m 12s is just slightly too big for a CDR, but will play on an MP3 player.
I make it 8: Nursery... Foxtrot Live Selling England... The Lamb Trick.. Wind &.... Seconds Out

Perhaps he's including the first Archive set in which he played a role in "cleaning up" some old live recordings.

Er... So now we've gotten over how many albums question... What would you like to hear new versions of..? I forgot Here Comes the Supernatural Anaethetist might be another good choice. I wonder if this project is what John Wetton was talking about on his blog the other week when he said he waas doing some more work with Steve?
Agree that an unfinished song would be welcome, if such a thing exists...
...Oh yeah, I wonder if he'll ask Tony Banks to play keyboards on this one? Go on, Steve, you know you want to...

Thinking about it, maybe he's counting the hits with Carpet Crawl 1999 as the 9th. Fair enough, at least he can be heard briefly on that, along with Peter and Phil. dunno about the other 2 though!

I suspect if there will be a fellow Genesis member on it, it may well be Ant Phillips. And if so, it could give him the excuse to use a Trespass track on it. The Knife, perhaps?

I'd love to hear an updated "Visions Of Angels."
Or "The Knife", of course. Hearing both guitarists playing that solo would be heaven!

Yeah - would be good to hear Ant and Steve re-work some early Genesis. and maybe ask Ray Wilson to lend his dulcet tones to Carpet Crawlers - he did a fine job of the Gabriel era material on the CAS tour. Be very interesting to hear Ray on Blood on the Rooftops. Hope Chester will return on drums, too.
Should be an interesting project!

Steve was on the BBC Leeds mid-morning show today and said he was currently working on the Genesis project - said lots of guests have said yes to working on it with him, but named no names. Nice to hear Til These Eyes on the radio.

Really looking forward to Invisible Touch
On the serious side ... what would people like Steve to revisit .. especially from the albums he did not work on.
Good be an interesting game.
