Colin was my friend, we collaborated on a song or two, we had plans for future music together, and shared a very similar sense of humor. Colin had recently asked me if I could be on deck as they say to do a drum track on what was to be his last release. He wasn't sure if the drummer on the project would want to do that particular song, I began to cram and prepare for a session that would take place in a week or so if need be. Now, I don't mind mentioning that the other drummer was none other than Joe Vitale, and the thought of my name appearing in conjunction with his was a scary thought to me, yes I'm a decent drummer, even creative at it, but not at the level or experience of a guy like Joe. I asked Colin many times over if I would be the guy he really wanted if Joe chose not to do that one, Colin being Colin, was able to calm my nerves and assure me of his confidence in my abilities. Joe went on to do the song, and my cramming session came to an end. But I came out the other side a richer man for it nonetheless. Thank you Colin for your belief in my music, for your contribution to my song and music, and for helping this bald headed drummer see beyond his little studio in Syracuse NY, not just musically, but relationally, Tonight will be bittersweet as we remember him through his music, I'll remember him laughing as he did during our Skype chats
