I am just hearing of the death of guitarist Allan Holdsworth, formerly of Bruford & U.K.

He was 70 years old, and his cause of death was not revealed.

Progressive rock is losing so many great musicians these times.

And lets not forget his amazing solo career. I got to hear him perform a few years back, and with Bruford in the late 70s. RIP Allan cry

He was on my favourite Soft Machine album Bundles - 1975

Also appeared briefly with the band Nucleus, similar in style to Soft Machine...

RIP Allan....... cry

A very, very sad day.
He was pure genius, unique and uncompromising. And those weird and beautiful chords...

If you haven't heard his solo work, please take a listen to Metal Fatigue, you won't regret it
