I was at this show. It was my first time to see a member of Genesis.

I love that show! I wore out my copy of it long ago. Why this (and Perkins Palace) hasn't made it to DVD/Bluray yet is a huge mystery, because they are fantastic shows.

Yes, they should totally reissue them. I still have my VHS of this one taped from television. And my shirt that I got at the show that is way too small now, lol.

I saw an imported dvd of this concert from...Brazil I think...I found it in a movie store, years ago-like in '03. It wasn't in surround sound, no special features and the writing on the back of the box was all in Portugese I think. It was called Phil Collins...All Live! I would love to see a reworking of that for official US wide release. I'd also love to get one of the Both Sides Tour as well. No one ever mentions that one for some reason, but IMO it has some great moments on there!

IIRC, wasn't there talk by Virgin Records/Phil about the possibility of a release of all his concert videos? I heard it was a "maybe" but then once they started talking about the tour we didn't hear any more about it...I hope this comes to fruition! I would love them to release a boxset or perhaps separate releases of

Knebworth
No Ticket Required
Seriously Live
Both Sides
Live and Loose In Paris
FFFT
Going Back
And a new release of Not Dead Yet Live! (which you totally know they're going to do!)

All Blu-rays with a proper surround sound mix, maybe a few special features, etc. None of these before Seriously Live (or Both Sides) exist on current format, and Live and Loose in Paris badly needs a proper surround remix (a full tracklist wouldn't be bad either!). I have Seriously..., Trip... and FFFT, but I don't have any of these in Blu-ray.

I would buy it!

I think it's the 1990 Knebworth festival where Phil, Genesis and Pink Floyd played a set each.
Phil played his set, then Tony and Mike joined Phils band for a few numbers.
The concert was headlined by Pink Floyd.
It was released as a live compilation CD/VHS/DVD.

Yeah Nick did Phil's remasters-well he wasn't the only one, he did it with another guy (can't remember his name now). I thought the Movie box was a great release. Pity it was released before Blu-ray was the standard format for video, as they're all on DVD. But still, it was a nice complete set, great bonus material, and with the sound remixed. The Mama Tour particularly sounds great, compared to before! It all sounded great in 5.1 too. I would love to get the same for Phil's concerts!

I also agree, they cut out If Leaving Me...on the No Ticket release. Sad-IMO that was a great performance. I also was sad to see almost a third of the concert left out of Live/Loose in Paris! I remember when they did this for the Invisible Touch tour DVD, and I was so bummed the old medley was left out.

Anyway, I don't know if we'll ever get this. But it would be nice. You know, now that I think of it, I'd also love to get a remastered release of Serious Hits Live-with a complete setlist! IMO the audio on that could definitely use a reworking, in order to give it a little more "oomph!"

Without having film masters to work from I don't think Mama or The Way We Walk can ever look any better than what we have.

There is a lot more than just If Leaving Me Is Easy left off the home video release, but if it weren't for that footage showing up I'd be worried it was completely lost (like the missing Three Sides Live songs) or not even recorded (like In The Cage from Invisible Touch) but I don't know if ALL the missing songs are just waiting for a new release or if they still need tracking down. It's sad that of all of the concert films Phil has released only Serious Hits and First Final Farewell are the full setlist.

As for No Ticket Required even if it HAD to be only the setlist from the original release I'd love to have it. I love the energy and the playing and the lack of an overblown production that started with the Serious Tour.

Agreed! If the remix of the Shorts and The Longs from the Live Genesis box is any indication Serious Hits Live could actually be made to sound great. As-is it is oddly gutless and tinny-sounding.

Totes. That comparison is exactly why I would so love to get a remastered (and preferably full) version of Serious Hits...Live. If I had to pick one word to describe how the original mix sounds, it would be: weak. We didn't really think anything of it before, cos back when it was released everything sounded that way and we didn't know it COULD sound better. But now with new mastering technology, and the fact that every bit of old material is getting a reworking, it stands out like a sore thumb. And again, if they can make TWWW sound as much improved as they did, there's no reason they can't do the same with this one, cos IMO the original mixes of these sounded very similar.

And I know it's basically just a live "greatest hits" of his songs, which I have the studio versions of, but this album-once again-has nostalgic value for me, cos it is the first CD I ever bought of Phil Collins solo work when I first became a fan, and this live album exposed me to all of the rest of his solo catalogue beyond just the main radio hits like One More Night, Paradise and Two Hearts before I went on to get all of his solo albums over that next few years...
