Was thinking about hitting the Cleveland gig. Nice venue. But it's not going to work for me. undecided

Well that sucks!

They are playing some nice theaters on this leg of the tour. Definitely more my style than the outdoor Amphitheaters. Although the St. Auggie show is an Amp but it's really small and practically a backyard show for me staying at my daughter's. Literally right across the street, maybe a 5 minute walk. grin

I know Gina snagged Pit tix to the Charlotte show, and I gave that one some thought but another midweek show is too hard to make work with the travel.

I got lucky with a 6th row multi night ticket for Chicago so I had to pull the trigger, and find a way to schedule the time off, and the Florida shows will be my summer trip to see my daughter this year. I love when shows at the Amp can be tied in with that! wink

Here's hoping you can find a way to one of the shows but if not it definitely looks like they'll be another leg of the tour in the Fall/ end of the year. I'm hearing a multi night Philly run in November is pretty much a done deal. cool

Yeah, I'm really glad that I'm going to have a chance to see them this time around, and getting to see you guys again is a nice bonus.

Fortunately, I was able to see MMJ about a year and a half ago when they were on the Dylan/Wilco tour. But on this tour and the previous one, they played at peculiar festival type gigs in Toronto. In fact, other than the Dylan thing I've never seen them locally. The only other show I recall was at a club, which I easily would have gone to except I already had a ticket for U2 on the same night.

But the Camden gig was a hard one to resist, mainly because of St. Vincent being on the same bill. I figured that you and JC were going to be there, so I just ran out of excuses. grin

I must be missing something, or perhaps I didn't listen to the right stuff. A few years ago after hearing JaneCool rave about Full Metal, er, My Morning Jacket, I checked out three or four clips of them on the internet. I found it simply awful... atonal caterwauling that made me want to rip my eyes out. I do respect the opinions and tastes of youse three, so maybe I'll have to try again.

BTW, I just got tickets to Joan Armatrading at the Keswick in October, and that is one I am looking forward to immensely.

I find it difficult to get a decent impression of any music by skimming things online. Sound seems a bit off to me at times, and live footage is even worse.

Here, peruse this and see if anything tickles your fancy...

Here's another album for ya Dust. This one is one of my favorites. It's their 2nd release, and a bit slower, and softer than the next couple. Some real nice stuff on here, including a couple of sweet accoustic tunes. This one always had a Neil Young feel to it for me.

They also have a nice selection of covers they throw in every once in a while. Pretty cool version here of Elton's Rocket Man.

What? shocked You've got to fix that. I find myself reaching for this one more than any other except Okonokos. That one is just about always in the car rotation. Especially if a road trip is happening. grin

An amazing three night run in Chicago with some great friends, and I got lucky upgrading my tix to have elbows on the stage all 3 nights! All the shows were top notch, and 2:15-2:30 long with not a single repeat over the run.

Even the new songs were fantastic live, and I can't wait for Camden next month!

They were at Bonnaroo yesterday, and no shot I'd go to that but it was streamed, already recorded, and posted to YouTube. A damn fine 2hr fest set,IMO.

Here it is if anyone wants to check it out:
