Imagine if they'd had the same number of albums since then as they did after Trespass!
Time certainly flies, doesn't it? shocked

Yes that is weird.
It seems to indicate to me that the band is a spent force with regards to doing anything new.

I suppose it's only going to feel weird if you were a fan of the band from around the mid/late-70s like I was. It kind of felt like there'd been this massive Genesis history that you'd missed out on and that "Trespass" was released ages and ages ago.

I got into the band in late 77 with "Second's Out" and then people started lending me albums like "Trespass" and "Nursery Cryme".

It was like they were from decades before. The covers were like something out of the Victorian era or at least like they'd been released before I was born.

I agree with every word of this! I got into them at the same time as you, Nov. I went back to the older stuff and listened in awe of it all.

Funny how perception of time changes as you get older.

Yeah, i find it really wierd shocked

What i find scary is that Sian was 10 in January, and the first gig we went to after she was born was the CAS gig at Earls Court!
She was born mid January and the gig was 6 weeks later, 27th Feb 1998 shocked
See even then i could only last 6 weeks without a gig rolleyes
That was the first time we had left her to go out grin

The next 10 years were very scary laugh laugh laugh wink
No seriously, just can't believe it's 10 years ago to be honest ....... cry

To be honest, after CAS, I'm glad they never did another album, and have spent those last 10 lean years listening to their brilliant earlier albums, as I will to my dying day

Like Mal said---NO!

Back in 1997, radio stations were touting how it would be a "return to their progressive roots". They were dead wrong! Sounds more to me like Mike & Mechanics meets Tony solo. The last thing it sounds like is a Genesis album.
