Mic stands

Possibly the most boring thread topic of the year thus far for which i apologise in advance
Those mic stands that Phil Collins uses. The straight stands with the heavy tripod type feet and self seating pneumatic adjuster...he uses them all the time and you see them being used on Jools Hollands show. I cant find one anyway , been searching for ages. One did appear on Ebay but i was outbid in the last second. Anyone know if they are still made (i doubt it) OR does anyone know where i might pick up a secondhand one. There must be one sitting in a dark corner of a studio somewhere all dusty and unloved I even approached the BBC about getting one but had no luck. I have been using the cheaper newer versions and they are a very inferior imitation, have had two break in the last year.

......OR............you could try this Rail, me old mate! http://www.herculesstands.com/mics/straightstands.html These are brilliant, tried them at a recent music show and they are bomb proof and not too expensive at all.

Well I know you've all been enthralled and wait in anticipation for a happy conclusion to this.....
well wait no more...Ebay has delivered...after a year searching...I have one of those retro pneumatic mic stands at last....
It arrived today , its lovely , old , bit of rust here and there , the pneumatic adjuster works a treat (you can smell the lubricating oil ! ) Cost me £37 which i reckon is a steal for what is the Holy Grail of mic stands. Wrex , you're right , they are indeed built to withstand just about anything. Its a mighty mic stand for sure.... Chuffed i am , Chuffed
