The 96' version is the one on their hits compilation.

I'm torn. The limp sounding drums on the original vs. the overlong and overblown Hits version.

I choose the original.

The original for me. It's very rare that I like a later version of a song better or the same as the original.

I prefer the sound and the production of the hits version more than the original overall, but the arrangement is so over the top it loses me. It's a great 4 minute pop song, but the Hits version tries to make it sound like some great anthem/live show sing along.

the new version may or may not be better, but the original was a hit just the way it was.

that compilation -which i own, by the way-, should have included the original version of all i need is a miracle, and the new one as a bonus track or something.

I've hardly ever heard the original version, so perhaps I'm biased, but I love the Hits version! From what I remember, the original version is a bit less exciting.
