Holy Guacamole, Batman!

I loved the original Batman series as a young boy too. Adam had also been doing the voice of mayor Adam West on The Family Guy for many years.

Sorry to see him go. RIP Adam cry

Holy Batwings!

Yes, very sad news.

Batman was one of the first TV shows that fascinated me when I was a kid. I can still remember watching the first episode being broadcast, with the Riddler, and Robin being shot by an arrow. It scared the crap out of me, but I loved the show. Never missed it. Even years later, when I began to understand the humour underlying the show, I still enjoyed watching it and it has become an all time favorite.

Fortunately, Adam West was able to reconcile with the typecasting that his role as Batman had on his career. He has lived a long, content, and successful life. He will always be seen as an original.

To the batpoles...

Very sad news indeed. cry
I used to love this back in the sixties. Loved the humour and campness of it all. The Riddler was always my favourite villain. Much preferred this version of Batman to all the modern dark, dismal, dank, doom and gloom versions you get today, far too gothic for my taste.
The original was, for me, more like a proper comic strip.
(I used to have the batman outfit back then too, I can still remember the smell of the plastic on the wrist guards and mask!) smiley

Spot on! The new ones leave me cold, but back in the day, I didn't have the proper outfit, but a duffel coat flailing behind me with the hood and neck-strap fastened to hold it in place served me well. It says much about the man that my daughter is also sad to hear of his passing due to Family Guy. He touched many lives and I'm sure all of them mourn his passing.

RIP to a thoroughly decent guy.

Incidentally, a quote that has always stayed with me: "Remember Robin, if it weren't for safety, the safety pin would never have been invented!" smiley
