question Library Section ..... what are you reading?
« Thread started on: May 12th, 2012, 04:51am »

Thought it was about time this thread was given a "re-birth" Mainly because I wanted to let Paloma know (if she doesn't already) that Carlos Ruiz Zafon has a new book out - called The Prisoner of Heaven. I can't wait to read it!!!

I have just finished The Angel at No 33 by Polly Williams - it was ok, but not as good as I'd hoped.

Probably won't start another one until I come back from Scotland - hopefully it'll be Carlos' new one !! grin

I'm currently reading Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman - there was a team who were giving this out at the arts organisation on International Book Day.

It's slow moving but a lot better (and funnier)than 'The Bequest' by Victoria Petrie Hay which I'm reading in the book group.

I've also typed up the blurb for the next book the group is reading for the summer newsletter - Time Of The Wolf. The cover and blurb just reminded me of the film 'Gentlemen Broncos' (where Jermaine Clement portrayed a sci-fi author who judged a writers' workshop - and passed off the winning entrant's work as his own after).

Yes, thanks Rosie, but I am very disappointed with this writer cos I think after The Shadow of the wind, a truly marterpiece imo, he hasn't written another book like that. I read Angel's game, the book that followed The shadow ... and in my humble opinion it wasn't that good. I have already the Prisioner of Heaven but at the moment I think I have some other books I do prefer to read in this current moment!.

I am trying to finish now The forgotten garden by Kate Morton, it is quite amusing and catching ..... just I am lazy these days and take me a time to take the book and focussing on reading ....!!

I quite enjoyed Angels Game - but not as much as Shadow .... I am hopeful about Prisoner - but will wait and see.

I love Kate Morton - The Distant Hours is currently my favourite book although I loved The Forgotten Garden and The House at Riverton too.

(You deserve to be lazy hon kiss)

Hi, Dust!

How do you like the Frankenstein novels. Although I used to be a big fan of him, I sort of lost interest in Koontz after having read his Odd Thomas novels. Shall I give him another chance?
