I know that most of the live recordings are available on The Movement site but am wondering if there is any market for the original Highland etc CDs that were the medium of choice before torrents and digital transfers became so easily available.
Thanks

I don't believe the Highland releases are relevant now and in any kind of demand. I know they were all the rage way back when. Torrents and peer to peer have pretty much made any other mode of exchanging obsolete, with the exception of the "snail mail" method, which still thrives I believe as there are many who still prefer this mode of receiving items.

A fair answer. Thanks. I've got a plastic storage bin with a number of these CDs and really should find them a new home for them.

Highland label products have certainly been surpassed for the most part by upgrades over the years. There are still certain people out there however who still collect the physical media. Let me know by PM if you wish and I can put you in touch with someone....

Agreed about the Highland CDs and other similar sets that are so available in generally better quality now. It was good fun chasing them down years ago though. There was a fantastic store in Montreal that always had a great inventory but then I went in one day to find them gone after a bust. I shudder to think of how much I spent on a lot of those but it was always such a blast to find the CD sets as they became available. Highland was prolific with varying quality but the real scores were things like Musica, Follow You Follow Me (Chicago 78), Live in Montreal (1974, Swinging Pig), Before Riches, Fiaba, Perfect Three Sides Live etc.
This is rambling on a bit but I still remember the great vinyl boots like Live From The Mouth Of The Monster, Revelatory Genesis etc that I'd find, take home and transfer to cassette and play to death.

Landgreen I still collect the vinyl and CD boots. Send me a message if you're looking to offload any. 😊

Got any bootlegs of snails.... rolleyes

I remember buying my first ever Genesis Vinyl bootleg from Probe Records in 1978.

"A Living Story"

I still have that now and would never part with it.

I can still remember the excitement of getting the train back to Kirkby and running home to put it on my small stereo record player....Loved that.

Best wishes

John

Hi there

Har di har har!

Ironic that some of those vinyl boots are collector's items in their own right nowadays.
