Hi there

If that were to happen I would pretend to be Steve's guitar roadie much like he did at the Zeppelin O2 reunion! wink

Memories. Singing along to most of songs. A few mistakes by the band most memorably PG missing a cue for the big moment in The Cage. Somehow it made it all better, gave the show a sense of us all being there for the occasion . We didn't need the support acts though. It just made a the day longer I don't think anyone in the crowd was remotely interested. I remember watching PG in his old man mask thinking he'd never make the mike in time as he crept towards it , but it was perfectly timed. I remember my friend ( whose name I have forgotten ) saying "there's only one thing that can better that" at the end " and that's for Steve Hackett to come on " and as I was shaking my head replying " it won't happen " he did! A real I was there show .

A bit unfair on The Blues Band, they were excellent.

Sorry don't remember them. All I remember about the time before genesis came on was just waiting and waiting and waiting. Although I do remember thinking how terrible Talk Talk were. Also I like john Martyn now, I had forgotten all about him there I looked it up years later. I wouldn't have heard of him at the time but he's hardly the right act to hold attention of a large crowd in the wet and cold.

Hi there

To be honest none of the other acts were really suitable for such an event but they gave it a good go and I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of it. Sadly that was the only time I got to see John Martyn as far as I can remember.

I was there too and if I'm honest it was the last time I enjoyed a Genesis show (Leeds '88 and Manchester '07 left me somewhat cold). However it also introduced me to the enigma that was John Martyn and I am eternally grateful for that!

33 years....and counting

I gave the bootleg a spin last night and I was amazed just how "together" they were considering they really had not much rehearsal time

Best wishes

Alan that's an interesting last comment! Wish the weather was like today's. Glorious in Norfolk and would assume similar in MK. Alan did anything come of that 77 footage or have I missed something. Cheers

I'm hearing the bootleg of this for the first time. Did Peter really play drums on Turn it On Again?
