I can remember that when I bought the And Then there where three album there was a leaflet where you could send off for tickets. I was 16 and a bit too young I suppose.

On a seperate time I went over my paper shop, and I could here Genesis live doing Mad Man Moon. I didnt know it was on, so I rushed home to listen to the show, I think it was Alan Freemans Show.

Also I heard a story from Knebworth off a friend. I dont know if its true. There where Punk Rockers there and they where fighting with Genesis Fans. Phil Collins came on before Genesis where due to start and calmed evreyone down. Is this true ?

At the risk of sounding terribly pedantic, Genesis never played MMM live so it must have been a different song that you heard.

I have seen G2 play this track beautifully though wink

Once I typed this in I knew I made a mistake. What I heard on the radio was phil singing. And the man in the moooon and he held the last word as described. The song was Burning Rope of course

grin grin grin

Shall we get back on track now?!

I bought ATTW3 but didn't get a leaflet to send off for tickets! angry sad Mind you, I probably wouldn't have been able to go anyway as I was the only girl in the world who loved Genesis and at that age, mum and dad wouldn't have let me go on my own. I'd have been too scared anyway!

Smart idea - meant you wouldn't be able to chuck him until at least 25th June 1978.....

Meanwhile I was there too and saw Bowie on the monday at Bingley Hall playing the Heroes tour. Happy days.

I was there as well! I'm to the left of the stage and out of shot - I know that because there was a massive Scottish flag about 6 foot in front of us. I was with my brother and his friend and we deliberately chose to park near it so we could find our way back after a loo break. laugh

It was the first time I had been to an outdoor show as big as that. Took us forever to find the car afterwards, didn't manage to leave the venue until after 2.00 am because of the traffic and got back to my parents' house around 5 in the morning to drop my brother off, then I had to carry on back to Southampton to start work at 6.30 am! We used to do mad things when we were young.

It was the lasers that I really remember along with the mirrors and the landing lights - they just went on into the dark fo miles. If I could go back in time and see one gig again it would be this one.
