Being realistic - and understanding they didn't want to turn it into a 1974 retro show - I'd have loved to have heard Dodo / Lurker.
Being unrealistic, I'd have asked them to dump any / all of the singles and the sappy pop ballads ( with the exception of IKWIL ) and perform The Knife and The Musical Box.

Sorry, I believe that Los Endos does not mean "the end" in any language (certainly not Latin and as far as i am aware quite far from the spanish) :S

Still, it is a phenomenal ending track to anything. Should have been the end of the show, not to bellitle Carpet Crawlers but Los Endos... so brilliant.

I think 'Los Endos' is a bit of linguistic joke.
It's not 'The End' in any language, though I think 'Los' is the Spanish for 'the' with regards to plural nouns ( Los Angeles = The Angels ).
Endos don't mean nuffink though.

I suggest it may be thought of as being in the realms of Spanglish / Franglais - The kind of thing an English tourist might say when they can't quite speak the language ?!

undecided

Whatever, it's a great track !!

I went in with very little expection, knowing that they would play a great deal of the hits, which I have no problem with I love all eras of the band. That being said, they really could cut down the length of I Can't Dance, or at least put it in a medley. As I grow older I appreciate the song Invisble Touch more and more and live it has a lot more weight to it. Besides the expected set all I really wanted to hear was Ripples and The Carpet Crawler, which I really did not expect to hear, so when they played them I was extremely surprised. shocked Behind The Lines and Follow You, Follow Me were also pleasent surprises. For me it would have been nice to hear Man On The Corner and It's Gonna Get Better

well, i guess it was impossible for them to play all of their classics on a two-and-a-half hour show.

the set list was a bit too predictable to me. the only real surprises were ripples and the section of duke's end on the cage medley. but then again, it was their last tour, and they wanted to make sure they would play the songs the audience wanted to hear, so it's understandable.

one more observation: i have the feeling that they played hold on my heart because we can't dance was too successful an album to be represented with only two songs (no son of mine and i can't dance), one of them as an encore. maybe they felt that other songs from the album (like jesus he knows me, driving the last spike or fading lights) weren't suitable to be played on that reunion tour for one reason or another, so they finally chose hold on my heart.

- Squonk
- Deep In The Motherlode
- Many Too Many (I know they never played it live - before anyone says so!) in place of Hold On My Heart (toilet break!)
- Suppers Ready - of course grin
- The Knife

Completely unrealistic, I know, but for me these tracks included would've made it perfect.

Stagnation, Musical Box and Suppers Ready. That said I knew there was not a cat in hell's chance, so I'm hoping Los Endos will oblige in September wink

I'd love to get a chance to see Supper's Ready, The Musical Box, Stagnation, The Knife, Watcher Of The Skies, One For The Vine, Cul-de-Sac(!), Dodo/Lurker, full version of Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, Driving The Last Spike and Fading Lights (I had a Fading Lights dream last night!!!) live, none of which were on the 2007 tour.

However, I wasn't even acquainted with Genesis at the time of the 2007 tour, so I haven't even seen Los Endos, Domino, Firth of Fifth, Home By The Sea, In The Cage, Ripples, IKWIL, Carpet Crawlers or those wonderful Duke's Travels, Duke's End and Cinema Show moments live! Sad, sad times cry.

Having never seen the real thing, should I be trying to go to a good tribute gig?

i thought the set did a great job of speaking to most of the genesis audience (those who remember the band for the hits, and those who waited a long time to hear ripples, in the cage medly, carpet crawlers, i know what i like...after so many years)

HAVING SAID THAT, the only song that comes to mind that i kind of expected them to play and really wanted to hear was Abacab...i love the build up of the ending instrumental.
