This is excellent news! This is my most anticipated album/project now. Did any of you see in Prog magazine that featured Genesis Tony's provisional title for the album is "Six"? In typical Banksian fashion he jokes: "If I keep going on long enough, I'll get to zero!"

Am I the only person not that fussed with Tony still going down a different route? I did not like Seven and will not be rushing to buy anything else orchestral. If I want this I will listen to Mozart or Beethoven.
While I understand Tony wanting to do something different much like Peter has done with his Scratch my Back material, the lack of anything new on the pop/rock or prog is disappointing.

No, you're not the only person. A few – myself included – have expressed ambivalence in other threads.
Obviously there are those here who have an appetite or an interest in symphonic/orchestral music and are very receptive to this diversion of Tony's.
For me, it's just not my thing.
Having said that, I'm content to see Tony, Phil and Mike still creating music even if the stuff they've released in recent years is of no interest to me. The hope is if they stay active, perhaps they'll eventually get back to releasing something I actually like.

I like elements of "Seven" - and bits of it sound very Tony in the way it's composed!
I'm glad Tony is still trying to be original!

I would rather hear him do more pop/rock and prog too, would love to hear his keyboard work once again. Hopefully after this classical project he'll consider a rock album. Doesn't matter if it's something "new" or "au courant" to offer to the table, as long as it's his own original work, that's what matters.
But I am looking forward to the new orchestral album. If anything, I am grateful that he is still composing.

Actually I love Seven especially Spring Tide...it just reminds me of the David Hentschel era or maybe a bit of David's own compositions on the Educating Rita soundtrack....

Seven still has that classic Tony Banks feel. I still like it...but I'd prefer another rock album.
