Not sure myself. He worked wonders at Fulham then at Liverpool i thought he got treated badly. The way Liverpool played to me was more a reflection of the lack of effort by the players and not Hodgson, and probably because they wanted Dalglish in.

He certainly knows what he's doing but does'nt seem to be as good as others in front of tv cameras etc.

Surprise news to me. Thought it was all sown up with Redknapp. I just thought they were waiting until this season was over with Spurs.

Don't think it is the way forward for me.

Sadly I think that the FA haven't changed in nearly 40 years. They want a "squeaky clean safe pair of hands". Brian Clough was snubbed in the 1970s and whilst Terry Venables had the job briefly in the 1990s, he was the first one to be called "coach" rather than "manager" as far as I recall. Harry Redknapp has a reputation as a "wheeler dealer" and whilst he was cleared of tax evasion, it doesn't surprise me at all to hear that the FA might not want him. undecided

I actually think Hodgson is as good a choice as any. With the current crop of England players my expectations are not high anyway.

The FA may have snubbed Redknapp as it would cost too much to break his Spurs contract.

Personally,I prefer him to Harry Catflap. He's experienced in International football having stints at Switzerland and Finland and moving both teams a good way up in FIFA rankings. He's done well at West Brom and turned quite a few players into better players than before he arrived at WBA. They have a decent defence and are very good going forward too. He's taken an average bunch of players and improved them as a team.

At Liverpool,he was on a loser from the start and,if you look at his record at LIverpool,it's better than Dalglish's. The only difference is Dalglish got them to 2 cup finals.

I don't think we'll do anything in the Euro's though, because he won't have time to get his ideas across

As usual the FA will pick the safe option in Hodgson. He certainly does not inspire me with confidence.......sigh

Now is the time to do as the England Rugby coach did.

Ditch all the old wasters, Lampard, Barry,Gerrard etc and bring in some talented youngsters and rebuild the team.
