It's starting to really grow on me at last - not keen on Skeleton Gallery yet though. The chorus in West to East is goose bumpingly good and that track is deserving of a well promoted single release I think!

Have received it & given it my first listen.

Pretty good overall. The only really "wow" part for me was the first part of "Anything But Love"; I was disappointed that the main part of the song didn't return after the instrumental part.

"West To East" was my second favorite.

In some cases I wish Steve didn't feel like he had to cram so many ideas into one song, especially when the ideas are complex without necessarily being interesting. Some songs don't need 200 parts overdubbed either.

Still, I'm sure this album will grow on me some.

Does Steve sing all the songs?

There are a couple of instrumentals, but Steve does all the lead vocals that there are.

Seems it's done very well all round in the European charts. There's now a video for another track - popped up today via the Crooked Hand Productions channel I subscribe to...

Hello, I am making my first post here!

I had pre-ordered the CD/Bluray from Hackett songs when it was announced, but I got a preview copy from a friend two weeks before it was released. I was blown away with the preview disk, as it sounded very well produced and mixed. The music is eclectic again, and very interesting. When I heard the Bluray in 5.1, it confirmed what I thought of the preview disk, and it didn't have to have the people upstairs banging to hear the great clear sound!

I would say that the only thing that has been missing from Steve's albums recently has been a touch of humour, but that is there in the "007" guitar on 50 Miles From The North Pole, and the trippy sounds on Martian Sea.

I very much like In Another Life & The Gift. Both are beautiful melodies.

Of course, with the world turning to shit, the over-arching message of the album is very important, and the video for Behind The Smoke brings that over very strongly for me. I wish this would get some Music TV play.

It is nice for me to make my first post about such a great album! (For me!)

Thoughts upon 2nd listen: A step up from WOLFLIGHT, I'd say. All songs are good, though there's nothing that would make my "Hackett Top 20" if I ever did one. Hard to pick favorites; this is one of those "unrankable" albums for me.
