Really looking forward to Invisible Touch
On the serious side ... what would people like Steve to revisit .. especially from the albums he did not work on.
Good be an interesting game.

Oh man I hadn't thought of that. I would LOVE to hear some three man stuff reinterpreted with proper guitar in it. I would absolutely LOVE it. (won't happen of course!)

AAARGH! I missed Steve on Radio Leeds!
Good to see he actually made it to the studio, which is more than can be said for Kate Bush with her version of Genesis Revisited, 'Director's Cut'.
Will there be a full European release this time?

How about "The Mystery of the Flannan Isle Lighthouse"?
Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind hearing a reworking of "In Limbo".
And what would really be cool would be a proper studio recording of the lost "Going Out To Get You" (a very different piece from the 1969 ARCHIVE 1 demo) or "The Light"!

Hmm. 3-Man covers? Seems unlikely - if anything, Steve has said that he liked Abacab, Turn It On Again, Mama and The Brazilian in interviews around the time of the 1999 Hits compilation.
My money's on: Entangled Blood on The Rooftops After The Ordeal The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (started last time, but could find a vocalist that was right for it) Hairless Heart Chamber of 32 Doors Supernatural Anaethetist and as a left-field suggestion as it's Genesis-connected, an electric version of: Timelapse at Milton Keynes. Unfinished tracks or new tracks in the spirit of Genesis...

Well, Steve's latest blog entry deals with this project, and one track up for inclusion is "The Musical Box"

Foxfeeder, I was referring to how the first Genesis Revisited release came out in Japan first and then got a general release.

Interesting blog by Steve. it will be interesting to see how he approaches the project this time around. Last time he was pretty playful and injected his (at that time) usual measure of the musically ridiculous... "And the band of the Women's Royal Airforce" etc.
Steve's dropped that side of his music for a while (I wonder if that's actually helped his critical standing and record sales? I suspect so.)
A more straight-ahead approach on this one, then? We'll see. With the last sixteen years spent working with Mr King, I'd certainly expect it to sound pretty amazing, at least.

And I might add, that doing a new version of 'The Musical Box' would be a fascinating opportunity to collaborate with Ant Phillips, one of its progenitors...

Ah, I see. The reason was the Japanese record company, Mercury, bankrolled the recording, and being the impatient type, weren't willing to wait for Los Endos to be completed. Don't know who's picking up the tab for this one, so may yet be a repeat of that situation.
Personally, I prefer the Jap release, as I think Collosus is better than the version of Los Endos on the EU release, and also prefer the running order.
The EU initial release is on Watcher, which is the parent company of Camino. Camino is just a trading name, and if you look on Company house the records are under Watcher.

Certainly agree with that. Roger has brought a whole new level of playing and production to the work Steve produces. Nick Magnus was great too, but Julian Colbeck, while a good enough keyboard player, seems to be a bit of a plonker. See the entry for him on Wikipedia, and the section about his time with Steve. Would most keyboard players have felt as he did on stage? I think not.

Yep, I read that and thought - Fantastic!
Realistically, I wouldn't expect Steve to do any songs from eras he did not contribute toward (and why would he?). I also think Steve quietly reads/listens to fans opinions and responds accordingly therefore I am really looking forward to this one. I think he tried to make the first GR so very different from the originals which kinda turned some people off it (as we loved the originals). I am also intrigued to find out who the guest singers will be.....
Anyone want to throw some names into the wish list?

For me it wasn't that he made the GR songs so different from the originals. With a couple definite exceptions (FAF, YOSW), it was how he made them different.

Other than the man himself, I'm hoping for John Wetton to return and Ray Wilson and Nick D'Virgillio to get calls - all fine singers...
