Er... So now we've gotten over how many albums question... What would you like to hear new versions of..? I forgot Here Comes the Supernatural Anaethetist might be another good choice. I wonder if this project is what John Wetton was talking about on his blog the other week when he said he waas doing some more work with Steve?

Agree that an unfinished song would be welcome, if such a thing exists...

...Oh yeah, I wonder if he'll ask Tony Banks to play keyboards on this one? Go on, Steve, you know you want to...

I suspect if there will be a fellow Genesis member on it, it may well be Ant Phillips. And if so, it could give him the excuse to use a Trespass track on it. The Knife, perhaps?

I'd love to hear an updated "Visions Of Angels."

Or "The Knife", of course. Hearing both guitarists playing that solo would be heaven!

Yeah - would be good to hear Ant and Steve re-work some early Genesis. and maybe ask Ray Wilson to lend his dulcet tones to Carpet Crawlers - he did a fine job of the Gabriel era material on the CAS tour. Be very interesting to hear Ray on Blood on the Rooftops. Hope Chester will return on drums, too.

Should be an interesting project!

Steve was on the BBC Leeds mid-morning show today and said he was currently working on the Genesis project - said lots of guests have said yes to working on it with him, but named no names. Nice to hear Til These Eyes on the radio.

Oh man I hadn't thought of that. I would LOVE to hear some three man stuff reinterpreted with proper guitar in it. I would absolutely LOVE it. (won't happen of course!)

AAARGH! I missed Steve on Radio Leeds!

Good to see he actually made it to the studio, which is more than can be said for Kate Bush with her version of Genesis Revisited, 'Director's Cut'.

Will there be a full European release this time?

How about "The Mystery of the Flannan Isle Lighthouse"? wink

Seriously, though, I wouldn't mind hearing a reworking of "In Limbo".

And what would really be cool would be a proper studio recording of the lost "Going Out To Get You" (a very different piece from the 1969 ARCHIVE 1 demo) or "The Light"!

Hmm. 3-Man covers? Seems unlikely - if anything, Steve has said that he liked Abacab, Turn It On Again, Mama and The Brazilian in interviews around the time of the 1999 Hits compilation.

My money's on:
Entangled
Blood on The Rooftops
After The Ordeal
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (started last time, but could find a vocalist that was right for it)
Hairless Heart
Chamber of 32 Doors
Supernatural Anaethetist
and as a left-field suggestion as it's Genesis-connected, an electric version of:
Timelapse at Milton Keynes.
Unfinished tracks or new tracks in the spirit of Genesis...

Well, Steve's latest blog entry deals with this project, and one track up for inclusion is "The Musical Box"

Foxfeeder, I was referring to how the first Genesis Revisited release came out in Japan first and then got a general release.

Interesting blog by Steve. it will be interesting to see how he approaches the project this time around. Last time he was pretty playful and injected his (at that time) usual measure of the musically ridiculous... "And the band of the Women's Royal Airforce" etc.

Steve's dropped that side of his music for a while (I wonder if that's actually helped his critical standing and record sales? I suspect so.)

A more straight-ahead approach on this one, then? We'll see. With the last sixteen years spent working with Mr King, I'd certainly expect it to sound pretty amazing, at least.

And I might add, that doing a new version of 'The Musical Box' would be a fascinating opportunity to collaborate with Ant Phillips, one of its progenitors...

Ah, I see. The reason was the Japanese record company, Mercury, bankrolled the recording, and being the impatient type, weren't willing to wait for Los Endos to be completed. Don't know who's picking up the tab for this one, so may yet be a repeat of that situation.

Personally, I prefer the Jap release, as I think Collosus is better than the version of Los Endos on the EU release, and also prefer the running order.

The EU initial release is on Watcher, which is the parent company of Camino. Camino is just a trading name, and if you look on Company house the records are under Watcher.
