Good stuff! I think i'm gong to like this part of the forum (not that I don't the others, but you know what I mean).

Is this just for Genesis related stuff or engineering in general. I'm a keen home recorder myself with a nice little studio set up, running through Logic 9.

This is supposed to be based off of the Ask Nick Davis section of the original forum, where you can discuss about the recording techniques/ production of the Genesis pieces, and solo pieces. Can include some of your own general discussions about recording techniques... for instance if someone wants to recreate the atmosphere of Headley Grange, or how to make a gated reverb snare effect, things of that nature.

If you're using a computer based recording system, SSL offers a free plugin of their Listen Mike Compressor that was a key part of the Padgham era drum sound.

Gabble...

There ya go... another response to this thread. I wasn't following GEN during their HUGH days.... I am more a classic GEN guy....

But, I have to admit that the production techniques used by GEN starting with FOXTROT have been ground breaking in themselves....
