And Glenn and Prince.

RIP. My husband's second favourite band after Rush, and two of them gone this year. Steve Hackett left a tribute on Facebook.

ELP were my second concert ever, in 1974, for the Brain Salad Surgery tour. They were so damned good, I took my 13-year-old brother to see them the next night. I think tickets were $6.00 each. Such a righteous memory for both of us.

I feel all the more fortunate because the ELP live album, 'Welcome Back My Friends, To The Show That Never Ends,' was recorded at the Anaheim Convention Center gigs that we attended.

Live for today, we're not promised tomorrow... sad

Great story, thank you. And major envy as Welcome Back is one of my all time favourite live albums, that version of Karn Evil 9, wow.
Still can't quite believe that both Greg and Keith have now gone, I'm just so fortunate I finally got to see ELP in '92/'93.

Plus the versions of Still You Turn Me On, Lucky Man and Hoedown were, for me, far more powerful on Welcome Back than on any of the studio albums they came from.

But I agree, it's a superb live album.

Sad, very sad. sad He made great music with King Crimson and ELP. I will always remember him best for the passionate vocals he gave on Epitaph. R.I.P. Greg.
