Never had a Flower Kings date, but I did once sample a Genesis sultana. Very nice too it was, if I may say so! tongue

I'm going to petition to have the name of my town changed to Tilberg, California. Maybe TFK will can be coaxed over here for a gig. We have a great outdoor venue about 12 miles from our home (see seating chart below) that holds 65,000 people.

My dream is to attend a prog festival there with a combination of any of the following -

1. The Flower Kings
2. Spock's Beard
3. The Tangent
4. Neal Morse
5. 5-man G Band
6. Steve Hackett (electric, not acoustic)
7. King Crimson

Plus maybe throw in a major classic rock headliner to draw the crowds; ie -

1. Styx
2. Edgar Winter
3. REO
4. Toto
5. Steve Miller
6. Sammy Hagar (a local - my wife went to high school with Sammy just down the street from here, and he performs a show at this venue every now and then)
7. Van Halen
8. Elton John

My theory - With a world-famous band headling, plus a few great prog acts sprinkled here and there throughout the day, TFK and other lesser known bands will get the audience they deserve and will definitely please the masses.

Sounds impressive indeed! I would suggest Reggie Dwight to pull in the crowds, and hope for a big turn out.
A good line-up you've chosen there; the only band on your list I am not fussed on is King Crimson - never been a fan - but the rest are top notch.

Although I'm not a big fan of our Elton these days, I did quite enjoy his music back in his early career. Certainly a talented songwriter, and he is a better pianist than he is given credit for sometimes.
I remember him on Parkinson a few years ago, talking about his early influences. He mentioned Winifred Atwell, and he demonstrated his talent by sitting at a piano and playing in her style, and he was spot on too. Sounded just like her. cheesy

Ha! Good old Elton helped me pass a music exam at school when i was 12! laugh
We had to write about the meaning behind the lyrics of any song we liked!
I chose 'Someone Saved My Life Tonight' and wrote a whole load of stuff about it, got top marks for it too! wink
Never happened again after that! laugh
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was the first gatefold sleeve album i ever bought for myself! grin
Had good taste even as a 12 year old! grin wink

Elton's music has brightened up many of my days over the past 30+ years. Hard to believe he still puts on such a great show. My wife and I saw him in Vegas last year at Ceasar's Palace. WOW! What a gig that was!

Here's Elton's driveway with some of the cars he owns. Click the link to see some more http://www.classics.com/eltjohn.html

I meant G2 at Charterhouse in November, not the convention.

Hope you can make it
