Alright you lot!!! grin

I'm back! shocked She says taking the axe out of the door and peering through the hole it has left with a wicked glint in her eyes!! laugh I think i've seen The Shining too many times possibly!! grin

So ....... how are we all then!
I nearly missed this thread, what with it's new name and all ....... laugh Damn they chorused, nearly worked then! laugh

Nice to see you missed me though! smiley Well we didn't actually say that you cry!

Crikey! I've got pages to catch up on!!!
Been up in Burton-on-Trent staying with Keith's parents for long weekend that the kids had off school.
I think i mentioned that my dad is not well and in hospital in Newport, so fair bit of stuff going on with that. Plus getting in from work at 9pm three nights this week, don't think Keith would be too impressed if i came in and jumped straight on here!
He is a truly fab bloke and is very indulgent of my galivanting all over the place, but i think that might have been pushing things just a tad ...... wink

So .......... back to business then!
Waiting patiently, oh alright, knawing the letterbox off, for Adam and Eve, plus The Road Back Home to arrive!
Hope they come by next Friday, so i can play them on the way up to Old Trafford! grin

Oh yeah, have managed to sort out things so that i can go up on the Friday, go to The Limelight for the Face Value gig, crash in a hotel, then drive to OT!!
Bloody fantastic! Then drive back Sat night for Twickenham on Sunday!
Ha! I bloody love weekends like this!!! grin

Oh yeah, have to confess, have been giving TFK a little rest for a couple of days shocked Only a couple, don't panic!
Have been in the middle of a Yes frenzy ....... laugh
It's OK the drugs are starting to work now wink

Anyway, they say she comes on a pale horse, but .....oops sorry!
Just wanted to check in, say hi, etc! Missed you guys! wink

Welcome back, Queen of the Squonks!
Your loyal subjects have been eagerly awaiting your entrance for quite some time now...you have been greatly missed....our lives have, oh, enough of this rubbish! Have you been away? tongue

When you say you've been on a Yes frenzy, just which Yes albums have you been playing?
And can you remember the pattern on your wallpaper round the house? After all, it's not like you actually live there on a regular basis, is it? You only use it as a base for bungi jumping off to another gig around the country!

One day, maybe Keith will take a firm stand regarding your behaviour, and come on here himself and simply say: 'All that's left is a pool of bubbles and tears, just a pool of tears'. grin grin

And, on a serious note, I do hope your dad is improving. How was his scan?

I've not been playing much TFK this last week I must confess. Been listening to some MMEB instead.
However, saturday afternoon is earmarked as 'let's give the hifi a good work out' time. So messrs Stolt, Bodin, Froberg et al may very well get their fair share of air play then.
Have you seen the pic of TFK that Counting Out Time posted on here earlier?
It's great! wink

Well, today, after a lengthy break, I played disc 2 of the 'Meet The Flower Kings' dvd. It still amazes me each time I watch it.
Also, I played 'The Flower King' on my new hifi this afternoon. I have to say it sounded rather splendid! wink

Lengthy break? What's that then, 3 days? grin

Some people have criticised the production on that album but I think it's great. It's mostly (I think) people who never heard some of the very dodgy production on some early 70s LPs. People are a bit spoilt for great sound quality these days.

Three days? You jest Sir! Actually, it was three days and six minutes!
Yes, that long! grin

As for the production on 'The Flower King', well, I think it sounds just fine. I agree with you, you only have to listen to an old '70s album, especially one that has been transferred to cd without being remastered, and you can instantly notice the difference in quality.
I always maintain that all TFK material, and also all the solo stuff that I have heard from them, has production values of the highest order.
With TFK, you get the whole package: Great songs, great musicianship, great production, great packaging, great artwork, great everything in fact.
Couldn't really ask for any more. smiley

Another great album Colin! Haven't played that one for a while, must give it a go soon.

Personally, I played my new acquisition today:
Tomas Bodin - An Ordinary Night In My Ordinary Life.

Only heard it twice so far, but I am rather impressed, it has to be said! (No surprise there then!) grin

And, slightly off topic, I have played the Sandstone cd a few times now, and have to say I think it's great. I must confess I know nothing about the band, but they have impressed me. smiley

Wow Nikki! That's very out of character for you, having a girlie night and drinking heaps of alcohol! I am shocked grin

Now, forgive my ignorance, but what, exactly, is a singstar? I am assuming it's some sort of karaoki machine. Or maybe something worse? I can well imagine you being the noisiest too!
Anyway, once your head is better, I hope you regain your patience regarding your TFK cds!

I've told you Carl, no need to remember wallpaper patterns or carpet colours in this house as we have neither! grin It's painted walls and stripped original floorboards all the way in this place!

Went OK, nothing sinister, having more tests etc.
Thanks for asking smiley

Yeah, that's basically it! Karaoke via a playstation or similar! There's a thing called guitar hero too which is great, they have some good tracks on that!

I'm back on my usual diet of TFK now anyway!
Oh yeah, great conversation overheard between Keith and Sian (aged 9 and a half) prior to our weekend away ....
Sian - Dad, you know when we go to nanny and grandad's?
Keith - Yeah
Sian - Well can we have some of your music in the car?
Keith - Why? What's wrong with Mum's music?
Sian - Well i like The Flower Kings, but Mum plays them all the time these days!

Kids eh! Ok, guilty as charged your honour!
It's not strictly true but i know what she's saying ..... wink

God! I dread to think how you would pose to that! shocked

Nice of Sian to comment on your little foibles! See? She wants variety in her life, not an overdose!
Anway, you can always build yourself a TFK room where you can play the music as much as you like, and gaze at various Hasse posters till your heart's content.
Take note: Unlike you, I am not in my second childhood - maybe my third or fourth, but not my fifth! wink

Well, my other new cd arrived the other day too, the new album from Kaipa. May give that a listen in the next day or two.
I try not to listen to too many new discs at once. It's harder to absorb them that way.
One at a time, that's my motto. cheesy
