Very good setlist - good to see 'Fool If You Think It's Over' in there. I was quite a fan of Chris Rea back in the late eighties/early nineties. Very underrated as a guitarist too.
Hope the gig goes well for you. Have a good time.

Thanks Carl.

The gig went great thanks. We played for less time than we'd rehearsed for as the meal was late getting out so we didn't start playing until 10:15pm. We still played 2 hour long sets though.

We had some great feed-back afterwards (and some feed-back whilst playing as well!!) so maybe we'll get some more gigs out of it.

Cheers

As for the red wine, well, I won't be having any more until about Xmas probably. Seems it affects many people the same way ie: giving them headaches, making them sick etc.
The scary thing is - if I had only been having a cup of tea, I would still have asked the same question! shocked
(Anyway, I still choose Tomas!)
Now, which member of Genesis, if us men were girls, would we like.....huhhuhhuh grin grin grin

Glad to hear it Carl (that your impeccable taste in all things Hackett is undamaged grin)I was a little worried there grin It would be John Mayhew wouldn't it? wink grin if you were female grin rolleyes kiss

Well, we both share impeccable taste, don't we Steph?
Hacketteers are wonderful (and modest) people! cheesy

Err, as for John Mayhew, I think it would actually be Tony Banks!
(Can't for the life of me think who you'd pick, seeing as you are already a lady!)
Funnily enough, although Steve is my favourite Genesis, or ex-Genesis member, and has been for a long time, when he was actually in Genesis, my favourite was Tony! It was his unique playing style that first attracted them to me, well, that and Peter's vocals. wink

Now why doesn't that surprise me! Maybe you should own a horse, or maybe you do!
Something tells me you have never been a fan of skinheads! grin

Haven't played any TFK today, but I did play 'From Land To Ocean' by Galleon, a two disc jobby by yet another Swedish band. When I first got it, I was a little disappointed in it, but it's grown on me. The keyboards especially are very strong. Second disc is a 52 minute epic called 'The Ocean', disc one (The Land) is made up of shorter tracks. Some are very good. Think I'll have to play it some more tomorrow.
If anyone cares to jump over to the TFK thread in t'other forum, you can see a little spur of the moment verse I put there, seeing as no bugger has left a message since me yesterday! grin

The Galleon stuff sounds interesting, will have to investigate!

I bought this album after they were banging on about it on the Spock's Beard board.

The trouble is that everything I like in the spectrum of prog (in terms of more modern bands), I receive from The Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree, Angalgard, Kaipa and Dream Theater (to a lesser extent). These bands are like my "new" Yes, Genesis, Floyd, Rush, Zep, etc, etc.
Any other band I've heard (including "Galleon" and several others) are competent, but just not in the same league, so I just can't see any point in persevering with them as there just isn't enough time or money.

I've only played the Galleon album a couple of times but it sounded like mid-80s "neo-prog" to me, especially Marillion. Maybe I should give it another go though.

I've replied to this wink

To be honest, Nov, I tend to agree with you. Galleon are certainly not in the same league. The vocals particularly let it down. And it was quite expensive too. I got it from GFT and it was over 16. However, I like it enough now to dust it off once in a while. There are some good bits on it, though I tend to like the first disc more than the 'epic' on disc two. I've definitely heard worse though.
Funny you should mention mid-eighties 'neo-prog' - I have seen this album compared to Pallas's 'The Sentinel', even down to the cover! That's another album I enjoy, but only now and again.
Sometimes I go through phases were I think "I must try to play lots of different cds, seeing as how I bought them. No use in them just sitting on the shelf."
But at other times I think "I could be hit by a bus tomorrow, so play what I like the most. Play my favourites."
Depends on my mood really. smiley

Carl ..... it was a promo vid for a band called Anekdoten, but you've prob got everything they've released already knowing you!!! wink
