Tomas Bodin of Flower Kings has completed a new solo album 'She Belongs To Another Tree'

Teaser/Sampler
http://mp3skull.today/download/teaser-she-belongs-to-another-tree

All in all there will be 10 songs clocking in around 73 minutes in total. Release date is April 9th, 2015

"This time Ive worked with a LOT of pure analog sounds like the Minimoog, DSI Tetra, Rhodes, DSI Evolver (partly analog). I also have a lot of my sad piano pieces. Yes I would say this album is the most emotional album Ive made so far. Ive created the soundscapes in a new way. Mostly "handmade" using the analog side together with some assorted pedals. I guess this is the true craftsmanship."

"Finally I would like to mention the little concept... everything is more or less related to "The Tree". And talking about trees, the slaughter of the Rain Forest is still on. It will be released by Reingold Records!"

Here is the final song list:
1 Dried leaves from the sky
2 She belongs to another tree
3 When the Ballerina Fish made her Gum Crawl
4 Damn, I was stung by a Zap Goblin
5 The Sloths are never climbing inwards
6 A Drama Queen in a Sky Bar
7 Dancing in a tree in a Paranormal Caf
8 Tree Top Sunset
9 Night Forest
10 Bonus - Shelter My Roots With warmth.

Tomas

Listening, yet again, to HFMC at the moment. It's marvellous how much he has both influenced, and been influenced by, TFK, imo at least. Lots of moments which could easily be TFK to be heard on all The Musical Companion's albums. Although it could be said he represents the rockier side of the band, there are many instances of beautiful, gentle instrumental passages too. All good stuff to my ears. wink

I was never an ardent Flower Kings fan. I have a couple of their albums since many years, but I never was more, than an occasional listener. During the last few weeks, I have dived deeply into their music. As I posted above, I saw the Instant Delivery dvd on youtube and this gave me the kick. I revisited Paradox Hotel, Adam And Eve and Stardust We Are several times next, the three albums, I knew best. Then I really discovered Unfold The Future, Back In The World Of Adventures, Retropolis and The Sum Of No Evil, albums, I owned, but didn`t really know. I finally got behind the music and consider myself a fan now. I must say, that I honestly think, that the Flower Kings are one of the greatest bands around. I am a bit surprised, that it took me so long to really understand, what I heard.

Fantastic! That took tons of dedication on your part to listen to all those albums and come to the realization that TFK truly are a great band.

Both Roine Stolt and Tomas Bodin have solo albums, which are very good too. Jonas Reingold has other projects as well; ie, The Tangent, Karmakanic and Kaipa.

Lots of great music coming from TFK members!

Welcome to the growing number of fans, slowdancer! smiley

Yes. I also own The Fading Ghosts Of Twilight by The Agents of Mercy, Angling Feelings by Kaipa and three albums from The Tangent, which I love very much, too. Strangely enough, I didn`t find it hard to get into these.

PS: Not to forget the mighty Transatlantic albums.

Great to see you've come to appreciate this fantastic band at last Slowdancer. I still maintain that, in twenty or thirty years time, they will be recognised as one of the all time great prog bands. If they'd have been around in the early seventies they'd have been rated as highly as Genesis, Yes, Tull and all the rest imo. wink

A bit quiet on the Flower Kings front lately. Does anyone think there'll be a new album this year? I doubt it because Roine is busy with Kaipa Da Capo at the moment - there's news of an album in the pipeline there, and that's something I'll certainly be interested in. smiley

It seems to be very quiet on here lately. No news from the TFK camp this year. However, I was watching Kaipa Da Capo on youtube playing Inget Nytt Under Solen live earlier this year. It's an amazing performance and it's great to see musicians from my two favourite Swedish bands playing together. You've got Tomas Eriksson and Ingemar Bergman from the 'classic' Kaipa line-up back in the seventies, and you've got Tomas Bodin and Michael Stolt from TFK (ex-TFK in Michael's case) and, of course, Roine Stolt, from both bands. I do hope they record and release a new album of material. I'd love to hear that. At the very least, I hope they release a dvd, or live album of their recent performances. I'd definitely snap that up! wink

Been playing Desolation Rose over the last couple of days. As with most of TFK's stuff, it sounds even better after a long lay off.
Think I might even prefer Disc 2 overall, but they're both superb, of course wink

Now playing: Banks Of Eden

What a fantastic track Numbers is. Right up there with all their best epics. When it comes to epics, they truly are the Kings, Flowery or not! No one else comes even close. cool

That is quite correct. Last night, I played Stardust We Are, Driver`s Seat and Big Puzzle in a row on my iPod. Absolutely overwhelming music.
