Well have been watching Instant Delivery a fair bit! I think when i first got it, i just wasn't able to give it the attention it deserved to be honest! So now i'm really appreciating it big time! grin
I just watch mesmirised by Roine's playing, he really is just brilliant!
Hasse ...... what can i say! I love that bit when he gets up on the drum riser near the end! Sigh!!
Have fallen in love with 'What If God Is Alone' lately too!
Playing Paradox Hotel today, ironing in the garden, topping up the tan! Singing my heart out to it!!!

May be back later, just got to do some lifesaving bits and bobs! wink

It's only 11:15pm and I'm hitting the sack coz I think the weekend has caught up with me a tad. I need to conserve me energy for the pub quiz tomorrow night wink

Glad you're enjoying "Instant Delivery" Nikki. I love it too smiley

Would you recommend the Rush in Rio DVD or is that a daft question?

I wonder if all TFK members have 'nicknames'. From what I can make out 'Mr Hope' is Tomas, and 'Mr Rain' is Roine. Do you know of any others?

I didn't know those to be honest.

See, I don't know much about this band I keep banging on about wink

Yes, I'm still up rolleyes

It's just that the night has got later and later over the years. I mean, the quiz doesn't actually start until 9:30pm and only last for an hour but we're in there gassing and drinking to well after midnight these days. And then of course it always seems like a good idea to finish off (literally) the evening with a talisker. I'm thinking of taking Thursday mornings off permanently grin.

It was a daft question wasn't it.

Genesis should play a few dates in South America don't you think. They'd go mad for them (like they did in 1977).

Check out my reply to you on the other forum wink

Right, that's it, seriously.

Sorry, but I have to second that. It was a daft question! I borrowed the Rush In Rio dvd from a friend and it really is a great dvd. The band are on fire at times, and the crowd are incendiary too! One of my two favourite dvds, along with Instant Delivery. (Of course, I've only seen two dvds.... cheesy)

See? See? Told you it was great! Didn't I tell you? Didn't I tell you it was superb? Didn't I? I did, didn't I?
(Well, it's ok I suppose.)
Glad to hear you are ironing in the garden - I wasn't aware that hospitals had gardens. tongue

'Just got to do some lifesaving bits and bobs!' Well, really!! Has poor Mr Postlethwaite just keeled over under your very nose? Such a shame it's disturbed your computing/ironing/tanning time! How inconsiderate of him!
Well, I am off to bed, time to leave you to your own devices, madam.
Goodnight! wink

Hey guys! You know Monsters and Men?
Of course you do, but just wondered if anyone felt the same about the end of it, the very last note in fact!
Apart from the fact that it comes to soon ........... the last note i mean ....... rolleyes wink right from the first time i heard it, i was expecting there to be one last higher note on the end! Well it's wierd, but the fact that it's not there just adds to the conclusion of this wonderful track!
Almost like they left it out on purpose! laugh

Er ..... now iv'e read this back it sounds a bit nuts, but have a listen and you'll see what i mean!!!
Can't you tell it's quiet at work eh!!! wink grin

I'm back from the pub quiz !!!!!!

grin

I know EXACTLY what you mean about the end of "Monsters and Men". You expect another chord there but I think it must be a ploy that groups sometimes use at the end of songs. There are other examples but I can't think of any just at the moment.

Well it's past midnight now so ......... i can officially celebrate my 4 month anniversary of being part of this thread! grin
This was my first post in the TFK thread on the old forum, on 24th January 2007 cool

Quote:
Ok Nov!
You've finally got to me!
I gave in and had to find out more about this band!
Realised i had a track on some freebie from Classic Rock that i never got round to playing,
so dug it out! It's Hit Me With A Hit.............................. and the verdict is...............
Bloody great!
But how representative is this particular track of their stuff?
Have checked out the various links etc that you and others have put on here, and will
have to investigate further!
What would you guys recommend as a first purchase?
This is going to end in another obsession, i can feel it!

Little did i know then, how accurate that comment would turn out to be smiley
"I wasn't prepared for such a journey, and now there ain't no turning back" grin kiss

Isn't it fantastic to fall in love with a band at 40 (something!) every bit as hard as you did with bands as a teenager smiley
