I think you are hearing what you want to hear wink Which is fair enough of course.

Personally speaking, I have never heard much of a Camel influence in The Flower Kings and certainly Roine has never mentioned Camel as an influence.

Occasionally, Roine can sound a bit like Andy Latimer but then he can also sound like Gilmour, Page, Hendrix, Hackett, Howe and Gilmour wink

I'm just pleased that you're enjoying this great band - a modern legend wink

Roine is also influenced by Frank Zappa's guitar style, which is prevalent on almost every TFK album.

Now playing:

Stardust We Are - Disc One

Great album indeed. If only other bands were this multi-talented!

Been watching Meet The Flower Kings a few times lately, so it's interesting to compare the live and studio versions of Circus Brimstone. I love both and wouldn't like to choose between them. Both are very cleverly put together and show off well the enormous talent this band has. Happy days! cheesy

Latest news from Hasse including some exciting news for our friend in LA wink

I'm sorry to say that The Flower Kings won't be able to do a proper US tour this time. The reason for that is time. Now on friday we're going to enter the fantastic Fenix studios (yes we'll be recording over the Easter holiday and for many more days to come). Of course we'll still do RoSFest (as we're announced as headliners on friday May 3rd). It also got confirmed earlier today that we're going to make a concert together with Neal Morse Band + Transatlantic encore, in LA at the beautiful La Mirada Theater on May 7th. We'll give you info on tickets etc as soon as we have any. People in the LA area (or wherever you live), welcome to the show!

Thanks, Jon! I still can't believe I'm actually going to see TFK for the first time! I've seen Roine and Jonas with Karmakanic, Agents of Mercy and Transatlantic, but this will be my first as TFK, along with the great Tomas Bodin and Hasse Froberg. How's the new drummer perform in a live setting?

I'm wondering, do TFK play live anything new (not yet released) from their upcoming studio album?

I'm going to see them in May. It'll be my virgin TFK gig grin

New Neal Morse interview!!

http://www.dprp.net/wp/interviews/?page_id=4298

relevant excerpt:

Andr: And another album is to be born?

Neal: Oh, sure, yeah! Other things will be happening. There is a new Transatlantic in the offing. So I will be thinking about that. Were scheduled to get together in my place in Nashville at the end of May. So I guess this is our big announcement! [hands in the air] We are all really looking forward to that.

Just noticed this quote as well:

We are going to start working on a new Transatlantic album! We have set dates in May and, my friends, it is actually happening! Before I left for the tour (and even just a few days ago) I had a lot of really strong prog music ideas that Im really excited about presenting to the guys. But, of course everything has to be kind of secret until we actually do it, so I cant say or tell much more than that, but were all really excited about it! We will probably look for a release in early 2014. But, who knows?! Im just glad we are doing it!
