That's the same face Roine pulled when I told him I could play every TFK song on the Jew's Harp, pitch perfectly too! He was very impressed, if a tad doubtful at my bold claim! grin

all the ladies disappeared you say Nov? don't...know..what. you're.... talking about. shocked

well, seriously, good to be back here. and i thought i needed something to talk about, so i bought Unfold the Future yesterday, or actually, very early today, on iTunes. have to wait until june 1st to buy the real thing. i had only heard grand old world, genie in a bottle, solitary shell, devil's danceschool and rolling the dice, in addition to (of course) the truth and silent inferno on meet the flower kings. I really love what i am hearing here!! i think it is really cool with the reoccurring (spelling??) themes, like solitary shell and the navigator (or is it vox humana? can't remember, and ow i am in the middle of the truth, and simply can't turn it off), and of course grand old world and the truth..

can't wait to get into devil's playground, the last five minutes of it is really eargasmic.. those five i had of course heard before, on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=972qmER4B4M
i think it's been posted before, but we need some repeating, can't expect everyone to read through 35 pages to get all the goods..
wow, DP would be the greatest album closer of all time hadn't too late for tomatoes been there as a bonus tracksmiley but that one too sounds like a cool track!!

and yes, jonas is the worlds greatest bass player. no doubt. have you heard how wonderful he plays on wheel of life, by karmakanic

We're primarily a live band to be honest as we only play covers so it's not really worth recording them. However, here is a really grainy video of us playing "Monster" at The Grey Horse last year. It's a bit rough and ready but does convey the raw energy that is a Phantoms gig smiley

i'll check out this as soon as my fingers are able to press the stop button on unfold the future.. i get a mild degree of disability when listening to this..

Actually, I keep forgetting to mention my other band ("10 o'clock Curfew") here for some reason.

Here a link to a few cover songs on our web-site that we recorded in a proper studio a few months ago:

thanks Nov, the video was cool, poor quality, but looks like a fun show! I checked out 10 OClock curfew too, not really the music style i love, but it sounds nice and tight. good job!

is your main instrument guitar or keys? saw you played both on the video..

Congratulations, Didrik, on purchasing one of the greatest TFK albums, in fact one of the greatest albums of all time! When you get the actual album in your hands, you will really appreciate it then! Some amazing sounds on that album.
Haven't heard Karmakanic yet, but intend to rectify that sometime this year. Also, I want the Circus Brimstone cd. Have you heard it? It's all FK instrumental stuff, played by the band, but minus Hasse, if I remember correctly.
It's an expensive year for me this year! embarassed

I've had both Karmakanic albums for over a year now, and I love 'em as much as TFK.

Click and scroll down, then click on "Wheel Of Life." You can listen to the entire track! They remind me in many ways like Rabin-era YES. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1093

Both Karmakanic CDs on sale here for a great price! http://www.lasercd.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=RNA-1405

Stardust We Are gets better with every listen by the way!
Also been very naughty ....... ordered Unfold The Future! grin Had to be done! The Rainmaker was taking ages, they changed the order status, it was supposed to be on it's way! So cancelled order and went elsewhere, ordered it again plus UTF!! cool

Just realised what you said here, Nikki. You realise what you've done, don't you? You've actually ordered one of the greatest albums of all time. The album that may come to be known, in the future, as 'the album of three epics'.
Of course, you are familiar with the brilliance of 'The Truth Will Set You Free'. Have you heard 'Silent Inferno' yet? Did Nov put it on a compilation cd for you?
If not, then you are in for rather a treat. It's brilliant!
Oh, and then there's the little matter of another 25 minute track at the end of disc two...the much neglected yet stupendous - Devil's Playground. Rather spiffing, it has to be said.
Of course, this may all be old news to you now, you may have said cd in your mits as you read this. If so, then you will know what I mean. If not, you have such delights to come your head may explode!

In other words, you may like it a tad. wink

Hello Nikki, and welcome back!
Now tell me, what do you really think of UTF? laugh

I did warn you it was great, didn't I? But no, you wouldn't listen, had to go right ahead and buy the thing. Well, let that be a lesson to you. Remember - avoid TFK at all costs! They are not good for your sanity, or your bank balance! (I won't warn you a third time!) grin grin grin

Thanks Carl! I know, i deserve no sympathy at all! Brought it all on myself, yeah, yeah!
Going to France on hols a week on Saturday, don't know what the kids will say when they realise mum has spent all their spending money on TFK CD's shocked rolleyes

Had Christianopel on today, Keith says " I hope you don't plan on playing this all the way through France Nik", to which i replied, after i'd thrown a sachet of cat food at him, "Well i'm driving so i get to choose most of what gets played, you could always do the driving though love ........" wink Soon ended that conversation! grin

The amazing thing is that you still haven't heard "Garden of Dreams" yet which is many fans favourite TFK track. You are going to have to come up with a few extra-enthusiastic words in your vocubulary to describe that one wink

NIkki, believe me, you will be blown away when you hear 'Garden Of Dreams', it really is the ultimate epic. A couple of seconds short of an hour in length, you'll be surprised how quickly the time passes when listening to it. It has so many twists and turns, a bit like a modern 'Supper's Ready', absolutely stunning. (Yes, I know I'm sitting on the fence here, but I don't want to seem too enthusiastic about it!)
Can't wait for you to hear it. In a way I envy you, you still have the pleasure of discovery ahead of you regarding TFK, lucky thing!
And I agree with you about Christianopel, I hope Nov revisits it and has a change of mind over it. I love it. cheesy
