Kitty and I watched the Tour Kaputt DVD again last night. Hadn't seen it for a long time. The way it is filmed is wonderful. Lots of visual tricks/colors - very nice. The band are hot. Roine's guitar work is phenomenal, and the drumming by Pat Mastelotto is amazing! Love it to bits! cool

Wow Fraser - this is pretty strong stuff and all I can say is that in my opinion, you are completely missing something with Flower Power undecided

Remember, for many (including Nikki, Carl, etc) Flower Power is their favourite Flower Kings album and in Carl's case, his joint favourite all-time album with The Lamb. I'm not saying that this means that you should like it as well but just maybe you need to take a step back from it and give it a bit more time or try and understand what other people love about it.

It's certainly a top 3 TFK album for me and Garden Of Dreams is a top 5 track. To me, it's 60 minutes of prog wonder and I just cannot see or understand why you think it's "a waste of space" and "twaddle". Honestly, I am flabbergasted by your opinion.

Is this really "twaddle"? For me, it's as moving, powerful and emotional as the end of Supper's Ready or Awaken:

However, I do agree with you about "Bavarian Skies" and I do still luv ya mate kiss grin

Looking forward to seeing you next Saturday in Leamington when we can share a drink, and TFK and maybe a punch-up over "Flower Power" grin

wink

Sorry Nov...you know I'm a fan of TFK, just very particular that's all.
Will happily sing the praises when they get it right and think I also have the right to point out the dross!
(and boy!...is there much dross on that album!!)

Nikki and Carl are entitled to their own tastes in music...just as I am. I'm quite sure that they would be horrified by some of the stuff I listen to and really rate. smiley
I've had this album for over five years now and have listened to it plenty believe me. More listens just make the gulf between the good and the bad more profound.

People that know me know I'm not swayed by popular opinion and prefer to make my own mind up about what appeals and what doesn't (and yes, I am very particular).
I'm still that small boy that shouts out that the king is wearing no clothes!
It's nice that other people like it but the majority of the album is crap for me...simple as. At least give me credit for pointing out it's highlights! rolleyes

Exactly!

Nov sometimes forgets that I'm one of his TFK converts. And very grateful I am too for being introduced to such a wealth of awesome music.
Thing is...I have the ability to take a step back and view the whole thing objectively. That means that there are TFK tracks that I will treasure to my grave.
It also means that there are TFk tracks that will haunt me to my grave! grin

No it's not Nov. I'm not comparing Flower Power to any other album (I haven't gone that far yet). I'm merely highlighting good from bad on the one album.

Just getting ready to leave Watford, so looking forward to this gig in Leamington smiley

It's been a very long 5 years since that brilliant TFK gig in London.

New venue to check out as well for me, which is always cool.

If Gooner and i can not get as smashed as we did that night back in 2007 then everything will be fine ........... wink grin rolleyes

C'mon Jon, couldn't you tone it down a bit for us fans on the other side of the world who will probably never get to see them? Geez! grin

Seriously, glad you had a great time. I'm green with envy, my friend smiley
