Funny you should say that as this is also an album that I cannot get into no matter how many times I played it. I heard this on the back of SWA album and it just did not have the 'wow' effect that album had. I also struggle with Adam and Eve but I guess I just prefer the FKs from Unfold the Future downwards (apart from Flowerpower as indicated above)

I tried again yesterday Ned and it just doesn't grab me , however the second side has some great tracks especially the wonderful Stupid Girl.

Interesting comment there Gooner wink

I love CD2 of FP but most fans of the band consider a lot of it "filler" because it is so over-shadowed (in their opinion) by the brilliance of Garden of Dreams.

Maybe you'd prefer the shorter version (only 45 minutes grin) on the Meet The Flower Kings DVD wink

It's certainly a top 5 TFK track for me.

Not only my favourite Flower Kings album, but my second favourite all time album, behind, by a micron's nano second, The Lamb.
cool

It's not for everyone obviously, but for me, it's wonderful, all of it. wink

Really getting into the new album now. Also been playing Stardust and Flower Power today (those two have 4.5hrs of music, what a way to spend my day off!)

Stardust is an amazing album and I particularly like "Poor Mr. Rain's Ordinary Guitar" (beautiful melody) but the king album is Flower Power which is simply sublime throughout.

Can Banks Of Eden climb the rankings list? Perhaps yes....still more plays required to absorb the music. But stunning effort, nonetheless.

Indeed - a great way to spend a day wink

I love that track!! Too many people just look at those little instrumental pieces as "filler" which does them such an injustice. They have some lovely pieces on all albums under 3 minutes wink

Agreed! Though it'll probably be in my lower half of TFK albums. I don't think it's better than Retropolis or BITWOA but definitely better than SONE and A&E. Possiblt tied with Rainmaker at the moment for me wink

Another album people tend to struggle with is Unfold The Future, but as much of a challenge as it is, for me it's a very rewarding listen. This is not background music. It demands the listener's undivided attention. So much is going on, and it's all magnificent.

The "Tour Kaputt" DVD is amazing! Highly recommended. Pat Mastelotto is on drums. The band is on fire. Love both the Meet TFK and Tour Kaputt DVDs. Not so much the Paradox one.

I cannot get into football at the start of this season at all. It just all seems so fatuous after the amazing Olympics.
