Having watched 'Instant Delivery' again today, well, the first disc to be precise, I am getting more and more impressed with Jonas's bass playing. He is phenomenally fast at times, and I love watching his face - he keeps it so straight at times when I think he would prefer to burst out laughing! I reckon that on the quiet he is quite a joker. Deadpan humour would be right up his street.
One of my top three bass players however, along with Chris Squire and Geddy Lee. grin

I wonder where Nov is anyway. Maybe he has now become a full-time member of TFK, and is helping out on stage shows, playing some keyboards, guitar and percussion - a dream come true, though it means sacrificing this forum and all his friends on it. sad

Good luck in your new career Nov, I look forward to seeing you on stage on the next FK dvd! grin

Hey, I'm about Carl smiley

Just been a bit busy lately.

Today I've been down to Feltham for a 4 hours rehearsal with The Phantoms plus the 2 hour journey each way so I'm a bit pooped.

I'm just gonna watch the footy (see Spurs finish just above Everton!) and then hit the sack.

Cheers

Nov

Check out the Roger Waters thread! Perfect Sense was awesome, Wish You Were Here was stunning! Cried lots during that cry, reminds me of a true friend who is sadly no longer with us, that i used to go to loads of gigs with, that was our Floyd song, he was a Floyd fanatic! All of it was great! smiley

If you ever decide to open and run a public house, that would be a very suitable name for it - 'The Fox And The Catflap'
My pub, of course, would be called - 'The Lamb and Squonk' wink

Funny stuff! How about 'The Minx and Madness'
You could have ' The Poet and Pint'
Nov could have ' The Musicians Madhouse'
grin

hi everyone. haven't posted here for a while, have used my computer mainly for music and solitaire playing (always so much to in my sparetime in the navy).. haven't gotten any new tfk cd's in a while, so haven't had the need to ramble on about it's greatness. but then again, i just discovered how insanely amazing the thruth will set you free is performed on instant delivery!! havent listened to it so much because i had the full version on meet tfk.. i love very much the part before the guitar solo where roine uses both his piezo and magnetic pickups w/wah wah pedal, and the guitar solo itself.. wow!

but now it's only a couple weeks until i get about 1500 quid in on my account.. gone buy a cell phone, a watch and the rest of the tfk catalog, plus a couple of concert tickets (porcupine tree, dream theater).. woohoo!!

and i have also been very busy writing music, man that's fun! check out www.myspace.com/harmophonia and the song Winter's End, a song i have written during the last two weeks.. a very jonas-inspired bass solo on it. not the insane technical stuff he does, but his more mellow parts..

and someone said that meet the flower kings doesnt get a lot of attention here.. unbelievable really, it has a lot of fantastic interpretations of some of their epics. the occasional vocal overdubs bother me a bit when watching it though..

as usual this post is just a bunch of thoughts pressed into a too small space, but i don't really care.. i'm looking forward to joining the discussions here in the coming weeks.

to Nov: has Phantoms got a myspace site? or another place i can hear some of your music?

Great that you've met someone lovely too! grin

Sorry you've been left with all these dodgy footie fans Nikki but hey us gooners will always laugh last.I don't think we're that far away from a very good side with a few tweaks here and there.
So what's happening on the FK front when's the album out.
Oh and Nov me and my lady are up for your gig we'll get a hotel for the night and stay over. grin

Excellent. Ever since you "disappeared", so did all the ladies, apart from Nikki smiley

We haven't got a myspace but we have got a web-site at www.thephantoms.biz

We're primarily a live band to be honest as we only play covers so it's not really worth recording them. However, here is a really grainy video of us playing "Monster" at The Grey Horse last year. It's a bit rough and ready but does convey the raw energy that is a Phantoms gig smiley

That's fantastic gooner smiley Do you mean the gig coming up on June 2nd or the one on September 15th. I only ask coz Nikki is more likely to be at the September one. Hey, come to both!!

Have you got somewhere lined up to stay? Here's the web-site for the venue so you can get your bearings.

Let me know if you need a map or anything.
