Roine will be a young man of 64 in 2020, with at least 10 more productive years ahead of him. Can you imagine the prog he'll be creating 10 years from now? I can only hope his career catapults him to the toppermost of the poppermost cool He deserves some recognition. I pray it doesn't take 10 more years for that to happen.

Two great interviews there. Thanks for posting Nov!
Interesting to see Roine mentioning TFTO by Yes as an album he likes. I've always said I can hear parts of that album in quite a bit of Flower Kings' music. I think it's the Yes album that most influenced them. (And as I love that album, that's fine by me!) cheesy

As far as I'm concerned, Roine should get the same recognition as Steve Hackett and Steve Howe.

I hope he is a very rich old man in 20 years time and I'll be more than happy to contribute to that wink

I need to revisit TFTO. I've got it on vinyl but haven't listened to it for over 20 years. I remember really liking lots of sides 1 and 2, not so much side 3 and then bits of side 4.

I found it's one of those albums you appreciate more with age. I first bought it about '76 or '77, having read mixed reactions to it. (On vinyl of course in those days!)
I remember I liked sides one and four, didn't care as much for sides two and three. Of course, I was only about 18 at the time and it meandered too much for me then.
My mate bought the Rhino remaster two or three years ago and played it to me. I went 'wow!' and decided there and then to get it again, which I promptly did.
I love it now - it's definitely in my top three Yes albums.
Persevere with it Nov, I think you might find it more rewarding than you used to. wink

Not got much planned this weekend, apart from Saturday morning, so I think I might have a TFK afternoon. I'll start chronologically, and may reach Flower Power after six or seven days... laugh (I'm exaggerating of course, but for those who don't know, their albums are somewhat on the lengthy side!)

Pardon the off-topic-ness here, but I want to get into the Flower Kings. Which album(s) should I purchase first? (Please DON'T say all of them... wink)

If you list your top 5 bands and pm me your address, I'll tailor a TFK taster CD for you and send it to you wink

If you'd rather buy an album, get "Space Revolver" wink

I'm not saying Nov's getting predictable, but...

laugh laugh laugh

Seriously, although Space Revolver is still my least favourite TFK album, I would, like Nov, recommend it to start off with. It's a good cross-section of what the band is all about. Personally, I'd leave the double albums till last, or they might slightly overwhelm you at first, Clucker.
(They're all brilliant though. wink )
