Word is the record will be released in April as posted on the Garden of Dreams message board on the official Flower Kings website.

That might explain why I cannot find anyone selling it - it now seems (despite it being touted as coming out in 2010) it has been delayed.

Watch this space folks.

Not sure what to make of the tribute cd. Usually, with something like that, you get the good, the bad and the ugly, depending on the band and the song.
It should be at least interesting though. smiley

Hope it isn't too long before the dvd is released.
Something tells me that, once I've bought it, I'll be on a big TFK drive again! grin

This band are being seriously threatened at the moment by Big Big Train in my rankings! BBT are now in my top five, and if their next release is as good as their previous efforts, they might even climb higher!
I think TFK need to produce something new quickly, to help them cement their number two standing in my personal band rankings!

(Competition is very healthy, of course!) wink

Well, 5 fantastic albums can surely only be half as good as 10 fantastic albums can't they?..........

........unless you're implying that the BBT albums are twice as good as TFK's?

shocked

Big Big Train's EP (full length album btw!) Far Skies Deep Down is very special indeed. I love it! cool

The last track "The Wide Open Sea" is contender for song of a few years!
Master of Time has a real Genesis feel...why not?!! cool

BBT need a few more albums yet to challenge TFK. However, I find them very consistent, just like TFK. I've heard nothing by them that I don't like yet.
This is a good thing in my book.

That is good news about the tribute CD box. I think it will be very interesting. smiley

Lately I've been listening to Space Revolver and Paradox Hotel. It has actually been quite a while since I heard anything off of PH, and I'd forgotten just how brilliant some of that stuff was. Monsters & Men, End On A High Note and Minor Giant Steps would have made a full LP that was well worth the price of admission. But we also get other treats like Lucy Had A Dream, Blue Planet, and the title track (to name but a few).

There are few groups/artists whose near-entire creative output reaches such levels of greatness for me. Genesis and Steely Dan would be on that list, and so would TFK. They are true heavyweights of music.

And there are not many times I've heard an album veer from the eerie, atmospheric sadness of a song like Mommy Leave The Light On, right into a joyous and uplifting one like End On A High Note. It reminds me of the transition from Entangled to Squonk on ATOTT, although Squonk was really not a "happy" song. laugh
