I'll be getting your 3rd World Electric CD off to you soon wink

I hadn't forgotten.

Same goes for Gooners TFK CD though I'll probably give that to you at the G2 gig mate.

Cheers

Cheers Nov, no rush - (not worth it as I've got them all!) laugh

Just listening to Moon Safari's new album, Lover's End, via Spotify. Again, there are strong similarities between this band and TFK, mainly in the upbeat melodies and intelligent compositions. It would be interesting to see Moon Safari supporting TFK at a few gigs. More people should know about them.

You're right, Carl, Moon Safari do sound a bit like TFK at times on Lover's End. Their compositions are most certainly complex, as are their harmonies. I don't care for Lover's End so much as I do Doorway To Summer and Blomljud , but it's definitely better than just about anything being released today by other artists. I would have liked the songs to be a bit proggier.......but, then again, that's just me wink

I can see your point Dave, I suppose Moon Safari are an unusual mix of prog and boy band, in a way! But they're certainly damn good at what they do. It's the strong vocal harmonies that set them apart from other bands and that's fine by me!
Think I'll be buying this one next month. wink

Watched the whole Transatlantic show at Shepherd's Bush again yesterday. The more I watch it the more I notice. It really is an amazing performance. In a way it's a pity Daniel Gildenlow doesn't get some lead vocals as, in reality, he is the best singer amongst them. (Portnoy's voice is without doubt the weakest, but I suppose they all wanted an equal share, and the band was his brainchild.)
Great gig and one I'll be watching quite a few more times yet over the coming weeks. cool

I agree about Gildenlow. Though I'm sure he's content to be the utility man back there.

I second that opinion, Nov. These guys have set the bar for all other progressive rock bands. I'm hoping to be able to speak with Neal and Mike at the YMC gig next month, just to let them know how much we all enjoy their talents onstage and in the studio. I hope they've got another 20 years in them.

As I said the other day, it would be great to see Moon Safari supporting TFK at a few gigs. Just playing Blomljud now and there are definite similarities in the music, although Moon Safari never get quite as heavy as TFK can do.
I think the two would compliment each other nicely on stage.

Moon Safari were really a treat when I saw them at Symforce 3 . They played some Great tunes. I am embarrassed that I haven't picked up the new record yet. I better go fix that cool

Wow, Hasse and Musical Companion play live on YouTube - great stuff - I'm loving the new album!

If you're reading this, Jim Harrel, try booking them for CalProg 2011 grin
