Excellent intreview with Hasse here:

And a review of the album here:

I noticed that Hasse was on Facebook at the same time as me last night. Something stops me sending a chat message to Hasse, Roine, Tomas, etc though. It's partly that I don't want to bother them but also that I almost don't want that kind of access to guys I really respect - like I feel that there should be the same relationship as there is to guys in Yes, Genesis, etc, etc.

Do you know what I mean?

Good interview. Thanks for posting that Nov. smiley

And I do know what you mean about the relationship with bands like that and wanting to keep some distance. I'll confess to having emailed Tomas Bodin a few times regarding his music (questions, pre-orders, etc.), and making some light conversation. He took the time to write back too, which was very cool. smiley

I do really wish I could tell the Genesis guys how much their music has meant to me over the years -- even Ant. Trespass was a revelation (no pun intended) to me when I finally got around to buying it. It would be nice to be able to express some sort of appreciation in person.

BTW, Nov have you heard the new Agents of Mercy CD? I just got it today. Posted about it in the Modern Prog thread. smiley

Great sets by Karmakanic and Agents of Mercy at Summers End Festival this weekend, I prefered AOM but it was all good.
Roine using Telecasters and getting a lovely tone.

I'll bet! cheesy Must have been a killer show, if their Power of Two live album is any indication. I prefer AoM as well, but Karmakanic wouldn't be far behind either.

What was the setlist like, from what you can remember? Did AoM play any of their new music at the show?

Talking of Karmakanic, I wonder when they will be treating us to a new album... cheesy

Jonas Reingold and Lalle Larsson are busy right now with Agents Of Mercy, but I expect they'll be in the studio within the next year or so with Karmakanic.

Thanks for linking us to that nice interview, Nov. It was cool getting to read a bit about AoM, and the Transatlantic tour. Roine is such a cool guy -- the King of Prog indeed. cheesy

I'm looking forward a lot to the Whirld Tour live CD/DVD (as I'm sure lots of people are), but right now I can't stop listening to Dramarama. It is much more immediately likable than the first album, which I really liked actually, but the thing is now Agents of Mercy sounds like a true band.

So basically, it needs to be in your collection yesterday. wink

I used to...

Sum of No Evil put me off. Can't stand it.

Really strange as the previous album Paradox Hotel is magnificent.

Space Revolver and Adam and Eve still get a play every now and again.

Worth exploring but Porcupine Tree get my vote for power and Spocks Beard get my vote for accessibility.

They are a fine band to see live.

Epic thread here isn't it!

Surely you haven't gone off the band based just on one album have you Steve?
There are lots of bands who I like, but who have produced albums I'm not keen on.
Time you started digging out their back catalogue again methinks... cheesy

pretty much yes i'm afraid . i felt that tsone wasn't flower kings music. it was more like a weak imitation of 7 0s prog...so i lost respect for the group.

It looks likely that I'll get the Hasse Froberg and AoM CDs for my birthday - I've already hinted I want the Transatlantic DVD for Christmas!

Flower Kings in-between projects are like First Bus in this country; several come at once! grin
