I've got the curtains drawn and the lights off, just in case. Anyway Nov, don't worry about me, you go and check out that helicopter circling overhead every evening. You never know... shocked

Announcement about the new Agents of Mercy album.

Quote:
Agents Of Mercy | DramaRama ...it's rehearsed and recorded "live" in Varispeed Studios in Sweden, with very few overdubs. 12 songs written by guitarist Roine Stolt & singer Nad Sylvan - the concept was "to find the roots of our inspiration and the sounds we love" so there's the obvious late 60's and early 70's feel. 12 titles that focus more on melody, storytelling and drama than technical delivery - not withstanding the fact that the band house some of the most skilled hi - profile musicians in the present prog scene.

Huge rumble and swosh from drums, fuzzy grinding or thunder bass, Wurlizer piano, Hammond swirls and moog ornaments, Telecaster twang and vintage Voxtubes - all there to support our swinging 60's tripback. "Plenty of symphonic rewards for the diehard fans of TFK or Transatlantic style prog - but yet more scaled down classic rock & pop too". The new album is a big leap towards a more complete classic (prog)rock band feel - where the 1st album stayed firmly in very pastel and mellow contemplating modes.

"DramaRama" is an independent release from Stolt's own label designed to operate freely and adapt in this new dawn of recorded music.

The band consist of Nad Sylvan (Unifaun) Vocal & Keyboards - Roine Stolt (Transatlantic,Flowerkings) Guitars - Jonas Reingold (Flowerkings,Karmakanic) Bass, Lalle Larsson ( Weaveworld,Karmakanic) Keyboards - and newcomer Walle Wahlgren - drums...

The Duke Of Sadness
Last Grains Of Hope
Gratitude
Journey
Meet Johnnie Walker
Peace United
The Cinnamon Tree
The Ballad Of Mary Chilton
Roger The Tailor
Conspiracy
We Have Been Freed

A few selected "warm up & try out " live dates are booked to follow the release:
OCT 03 - "Into Music" - Lund - SWEDEN
OCT 05 - Spirit Of 66- Verviers - BELGIUM
OCT 07 - Boerdereij - Zoetermeer - NETHERLANDS
OCT 09 - Summers End Festival - Lydney Town Hall - ENGLAND
OCT 20 - MusicFactory - Skara - SWEDEN
OCT 22 - Nosturi - Helsinki - FINLAND

Looking forward to this, now that i've warmed to the first one.

Now gentlemen (Nov and Carl) you really must wait until you get the goods before making me sound paranoid or I become paranoid grin

Discs in the post tomorrow morning - it is chucking it down and I will wait until it stops a little.

Awesome news about Agents of Mercy. I've already pre-ordered it. cheesy

Pre-order information is on the Flower Kings website, http://www.flowerkings.se/ for those who are interested.

I loved The Fading Ghosts of Twilight after I had it for a few weeks. It really grew into a favorite of mine, so the thought of hearing a more fully-fledged band version of AoM makes me quite excited.

David, what do you think of the Hasse Froberg CD? I've heard some good things about it.

I am not sure how many FK fans know this but I was listening to a superb album by Lalle Larsson 'Weaveworld' last night (received yesterday) which has Roine, Jonas and Zoltan from the band playing on this album. Great listen and you have clearly hear the FK influence all over the album.

I may be mistaken, Ned, but I believe I sent you "Weaveworld" awhile back, and yes, it's a great album by a fantastic keyboardist; very underrated in fact.

There's also 3rd World Electric's "Kilimanjaro Secret Brew" CD, which takes the listener back to the wonderful days of 70s progressive/fusion a la Return To Forever and Weather Report. The lineup is virtually the same as on Lalle's album, with the addition of a sax player, an extra drummer, plus a percussionist, really making this a treat for the ears.

You are probably right my friend - you have sent so much good stuff - but I decided to buy the original album. I could have lied and said that your package had just turned up grin

Well, I've played Hasse Froberg And The Musical Companion a couple of times now and I think it's very good indeed. The more rocking tracks are maybe a little predictable, but they're still good, whilst some of the longer songs are quite proggy in parts. Very pleased with it I have to say.

Cheers Dave! wink
