I've been listening to The Power of Two and Killamajaro Secret Brew recently.

Power of Two is a pretty decent live album, not one of my favorites, but good song choice.

Yeah, I think I agree pretty much. Good song selection, although I still find my mind wandering a bit during some of the instrumental sections of the Karmakanic tunes.

Still some pretty great music though. I like hearing the AoM songs in a live context as well.

I was pleasantly surprised by 3rd World Electric's debut. Very good jazzy stuff. Worth getting.

Yes, I was just listening to this again recently. Put on the song Waterfront Migration late at night and found myself really enjoying it, as well as the next couple tracks. I have to listen to the whole thing again, as it has been a long time.

Back when the album was firsting coming out I had listened to the samples they had posted on Myspace and wasn't very impressed. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the right mood or what, but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Played both audio discs of Instant Delivery the other day. Just listening to the music, without the distraction of the brilliant dvd, you realise just what a phenomenal performance they put in. cool

Yeah it is excellent. Come to think of it, I haven't listened to those discs in nearly two years now... embarassed

I really must correct that.

Do the same with Meet The Flower Kings too. Another great live album even without the superb dvd. cool

Thinking about my last post, it's a shame there wasn't a dvd to accompany their first live album, Alive On Planet Earth. Maybe one will see the light of day sometime in the future. smiley

Yesterday I drove from my house in Cambridgeshire to a Go-kart track near Newmarket for a works "jolly" afternoon.

As I drove along the Soham by-pass I noticed signs for "Hasse Fen" which was accessible from "Hasse Lane" grin

I just checked on Google maps and there is a "Little Hasse Drove" as well. To which the response has to be "did he?" grin

I thought I'd share that piece of info with you all. Made me smile anyway smiley

Going to work a couple of years ago, passing the dockland in Seaforth, I saw, for a week or two, some containers, orange I think, with Stolt printed on the side. I didn't have my digital camera then or I'd have taken a pic. undecided

Here's the latest about TFK from the horse's mouth:

"Can't tell - But in my mind TFK is not at all finished - it will be back .......

First - we got to go back to having fun with music and to trust and respect between members and also record company -

When a band enter a phase where parts of the group see it simply as a vehicle to promote themselves(soloprojects) and don't believe in the band and just hang in for the bread (that ain't much anyway.....) it is not realistic to think that they can get an audience excited. TFK was bordering to that and I didn't wanna go there -

Perhaps more important, I came to realize that parts of our audience and parts of press etc. (and band) started to take us for granted and tagged us as "old news" - so my feeling is "why should I spend a fortune touring a band that neither fans or band believe in?".

It leaves you almost isolated and you feel like a fool working that hard spending all that money - for a slap in the face, snide comments from progpress or ignorance from old friends! Suddenly all fun was gone making the music I used to love - and everyone's ego became the centre of our universe - so it's easy for me I just stop .... and look for "fun" again .

Now some of you will say "Roine - don't listen to the critics - you're over sensitive" ........well, walk a mile in my shoes - Swimming upstreams ain't easy - it's as simple as that - takes a toll on economy and well being and as a free man I chose to hang with people that share the vision and respect my efforts.

For me AOM and TA has been so much fun and so easy so it's natural to go with that right now.

However I admit that writing TFK music feels like within reach for the first time in quite a while, so don't give up.

To power of kindness is what I obey.

best
Roine"

Those of us who know and love what Roine has produced with TFK have total respect for him but I feel that he should be mentioned along with the likes of Howe, Hackett, Latimer, Gilmour, Fripp, etc. Then he would be getting the respect and love that he truly deserves.

Thanks for posting that Nov. Very interesting read from Roine. It's a shame that he isn't more widely recognized, and he should be mentioned alongside those other musicians you listed. Hopefully he knows how much we love and respect him.

And if he continues to hold out hope for TFK's future, then so will I. His other projects are great, and I loved the Agents of Mercy and Transatlantic albums that came out last year, but The Flower Kings holds a special place in my heart.

Speaking of AoM, has anyone heard anything regarding the current status of the forthcoming album?
