Just had to say I watched the whole two discs of 'Instant Delivery' this morning. And they just get better with each play! The band seem in such a good mood - they obviously enjoy performing together, and it shows!
Must get 'Meet The Flower Kings' next! cheesy

Also want to add, after seeing the dvd again, that I am very impressed with Marcus Lilliequist's drumming throughout the show. Whether or not he has a part to play in the band's future, I feel he has made his mark on their history.
He looks like a tall lad with a small kit - but he gets some amazing sounds out of that kit!
Well done Marcus! wink

Last night (after a few glasses of wine!) I listened to the live version of "Stardust We Are" from "Instant Delivery" through head-phones and got exactly the same rush of emotion and joy that I used to get as a teenager listening to sides 3 and 4 of "Second's Out". It's wonderful to still feel that alive listening to music when you're in your 40s.

Ditto.

It shouldn't be under-estimated how much there is to remember in that set and how much responsibility he has to keep the whole thing together. Playing in 2 bands myself, I know that the drummer has the most difficult job because his (or her) mistakes are the most glaring.

In well over 2 hours of complex Flower Kings music, Markus literally doesn't miss a beat.

Totally agree. Something I like to do, whether it's at a live concert, or watching a dvd or video, is to watch how the band members perform. How they play, both individually and together in fact. I like watching talent, basically.
Of course, I am at a concert to enjoy the music, but I do like seeing technical proficiency in action as well. The light and the shade, the tone and the colours, the quiet and the loud, the fast and the slow. I am always filled with admiration for musicians who can perform well.
When I watch TFK I switch my attention from one member to the other. Then, the next time I watch them, I reverse it. So I cover the whole spectrum of the concert. And the first member of TFK I watched in 'Instant Delivery' was Marcus.
Great concert, great band. Nothing more to be said. wink

I think it's a bad idea for me to watch Instant Delivery too much actually!
As every time i watch it, i wish that i'd seen TFK live already, but get excited at the prospect of seeing them later this year hopefully! grin
Women eh! There's just no pleasing us ........well there is but that's another thread entirely ........ wink
Sigh! wink

You'd better give 'Instant Delivery' a break for now and go back to 'Rush In Rio'. I'm sure you haven't seen it for years! tongue
That should keep you happy - without resorting to another thread! wink

Well, I could say: There are worse bands in the world to listen to. TFK are a bunch of promising musicians who could go a long way with the right breaks and some decent tunes.

Then again, it is time for my tablets! Nurse! (Not you squonkyNik!) shocked

You're right, i should give it a break, but it's too good!
Rush in Rio gets it's fair share of my attention though! wink

Isn't it great, at our time of life - grin - to be able to look forward to seeing a band almost as much as those years in the late 70s when we were all absolutely desperate to see Genesis?

I promise you that The Flower Kings will not disappoint. I am planning on seeing them as many times as possible the next time they play. Possibly on the continent as well.
