I am partial to I am the Sun Part 2, really

in fact the three songs to end the Space Revolver album are of my tops for TFK (Slave to Money, A King's Prayer and I am The Sun 2)

I Am The Sun (Part 2) is probably my favourite single piece of music from the past 15 years or so. The gorgeous symphonic ending is right up there with the end of "Awaken" and "Supper's Ready" for me.

And I also agree with what you say about the last 3 tracks on this album.

Basically, "Space Revolver" was the first TFK album I ever heard and it is still my favourite.

It's great to get back to some serious TFK discussion wink

Bit of a surprise there Nov. I fully expected the first two, but I didn't expect Monsters & Men, good as it is.
Nice to see it getting a well deserved mention though.

I really love that track - there's just something about it. To be completely honest though, I could easily rotate into that top 3 "Garden of Dreams" or "Stardust We Are" or "Devil's Playground" or "Humanizimmo", etc, etc, etc.

This band have written more superb epics than literally any other band bar none.

Took a first detailed listen to the new Eggs and Dogs album.

Quite incredible stuff. Beautiful!

The Flower Kings are rapidly becoming of second importance for these wonderful musicians.

Gonna take another listen now with a detailed opinion later probably. cool

Totally agree. They are the kings of the epic, by a long way. Makes you wonder just how many songs ipods could hold if you only put epics on them...methinks it would reduce the number a fair bit! grin

I've worked out a formula for this wink

Work out how many 4 minute songs you can fit on an iPod and then divide this number by 6 to find out how many epics will fit on grin

I just checked some file sizes for mp3s:

The Beatles - If I Fell = 3.25Mb

Genesis - Ripples = 11.1Mb

The Flower Kings - Garden of Dreams = 81.5Mb

grin

Mind you:

The Flower Kings - IKEA by Night = 101Kb grin

Now there's an idea bassman! A ready loaded ipod or mp3 player with a band's entire catalogue on it! They could charge, say, 50 with the option to download any new material that came out afterwards, or even to send it back to the record company to get new stuff loaded onto it for you!
If you got fed up with it, you could wipe it clean and put fresh stuff on yourself, or send it off to another company for another band's entire catalogue, eg: Pendragon or Porcupine Tree, again paying the standard 50.
Maybe each band could have their own colour coded ipod, eg: The Flower Kings might use a gold ipod. Genesis might use a green one, PT might use a black one, etc.
Interesting idea. cheesy

Yes, Captain Picard. If you could just stop Mr Worf from trying to decapitate Beverley Crusher, I'll attend to it right away, Sir! grin

Carl,

Can I ask you a question? I'll pm it if you like and you can also tell me to bog off wink

We've exchanged views on this (and other) forums for many years now but as far as I can remember, you've never been to see any of the bands we've raved about during this time. I could be wrong of course.

Are you just not a gig goer?

Just wondering mate wink

Cheers
