Top ten Flower Kings or top ten all-time.

If it's the latter, that will be amazing.

Anyway, glad you like the album. And yes, the title track is glorious, isn't it? I think it must be one of their 'big five' songs, along with:
Garden Of Dreams
I Am The Sun
The Truth Will Set You Free
The Flower King

(though there are a number of others fighting to get in there!

Such as these maybe:

The Devil's Playground
Monster's and Men
Humanizzimo
Church Of Your Heart
Love Supreme
Etc
Etc
Etc

Any one of these tracks would be any other group's stand-out track but TFK have dozens and dozens of stonkers.

I don't know what's happened to the "views" count on this thread but it's dropped by at least a couple of thousand.

I've sent Krissy a pm about it.

Typical Nov! Might have known you'd cloud an already cloudy issue!

Why not throw in:

Silent Inferno
Deaf, Numb & Blind
Calling Home
Rhythm Of The Sea
Big Puzzle
BITWOA
There Is More To This World

etc, etc.

In fact, let's just throw in the entire catalogue! wink

Just been playing 'Going For The One' by Yes. I still think that album was a big inspiration for TFK. Howe's playing in parts is very similar to what Stolt does now.
A very good album! And it boasts the classics - 'Awaken' and 'Turn Of The Century'. cheesy

Top ten all time i reckon! Stardust We Are is a supremely wonderful track which ticked all the boxes for me as soon as i heard it in it's entirety, straight away, no question. The shivers up the back of the neck and round the shoulders thing .......... yep, it's got it. smiley
Or is that just the lack of heating in this big old house .......... wink

Thus it would have to be in my top ten Flower Kings!
Besides the fact that i still have loads of TFK to hear yet, don't tell me they have 10 tracks better than Stardust We Are ............. wink

'Compassion' is growing on me by the way ....... didn't give the amazing guitar at the end enough attention ............. bad girl wink grin

Actually, there are a probably a dozen or more better tracks..... grin

Ok, ok, just joking. But there are many that are just as good. Just shows the measure of this brilliant band.
So hadn't you heard the complete 'Stardust We Are' before? Don't tell me you'd only heard the 'famous' last part up till now? shocked

Yes Colin, you must buy it! Immediately, do not pass go, do not collect 200! For many, it is the definitive FK album. It takes a sizeable chunk out of your day to listen to it, especially more than once, but it's absolutely worth it! cheesy

I've kind of thought that as well, but not close to my favorite Yes album

Minor Giant Steps fits a little into the GFTO mode

(I know I replied to this in your pm Nikki but I wanted to mention it to a few more people........)

I know what you mean about "Compassion" so don't worry about that. The thing is that their albums are so long that there's bound to be the odd track that is average or not to your taste. I always imagine if they had existed in the 70s and were bringing out gatefold sleeve single albums like Yes, Genesis, Rush, etc were. Imagine this:

Side 1
Stardust We Are - 25:03

Side 2
Church Of Your Heart - 9:10
In The Eyes Of The World - 10:38

Right there would be an LP to rival "Close To The Edge" and "Hemispheres" for quality and in a similar track format to those albums. And yet you get several other fantastic tracks on their CDs. I think it's easy to forget that they are actually bringing at albums that would have been double or triple LPs in the 70s.

Well, GFTO is probably my fourth fave Yes album, behind TFTO, Fragile & Relayer. All good stuff.
And I agree, Minor Giant Steps is another Yes inspired track. TFK are so good at getting the Yes vibe, yet they still manage to add their own special touch to it. Think 'Church Of Your Heart', 'The Truth Will Set You Free', 'End On A High Note', 'There Is More To This World' - and there are many more examples. cheesy
