Basically, I second what COT said. It's a shame that it came to that, but I'd love to see the two of them working together again. I certainly wouldn't take sides as I love and respect both parties equally. Here's hoping they can put it behind them in the future.

Played Stardust We Are today, both discs.
Amazing stuff.
Of course, we all know how good Jonas Reingold is, but Michael Stolt does a pretty decent job too. smiley

Well, it feels like I'm treading the dusty corridors of an abandoned thread at the moment. I can hear the echoes of long dead conversations all around me, and the footfalls of reveried musicians are still faintly audible behind me. Their voices are calling me, asking me, begging me to tell them why the likes of Nov, COT, SquonkNikki, Demo Man, Bluegirl, etc have forsaken them. All I can do to soothe them, to ease their worries, to pacify their trembling minds is to assure them that these errant wanderers will return one day, and heap praise on them anew.
But it gets harder as the days grow shorter and the autumn creeps ever closer.....this is an awful place....I'm going outside now. I may be some time............

grin

Cheer up mate wink

We're all still here and I certainly pop in as least a couple of times a week to keep the old thread afloat.

I was away on my lads mystery weekend last week so wasn't around then and this weekend we're off to Monmouth so I've also been away a bit.

In short:

LONG LIVE THE FLOWER KINGS (thread)

Carl! Are you feeling lonely?

I haven't abandoned you and the TFK thread, but a wonderful G2 weekend grin and a bad back cry have hampered my journey.

I've been concerntrating on Back in the World of Adventures and I think Big Puzzle is my favourite track but 'm prepared for this to change as time goes on and depending on my mood.

Maybe this weekend is the time to start on another voyage of discovery into another TFK album.

Any thoughts on which one I should pick?

Well, sorry to hear about your bad back. You need to be lying down by a pool somewhere, a g & t in hand and a pair of headphones on, listening to 'Big Puzzle' ten times a day, if you ask me. Best cure there is.
As for what I'd recommend next, why not go all chronological, and get Retropolis? I guarantee you won't be disappointed, young Miss Heather! wink

Ooh! I like that. wink Not so sure about the G&T though undecided

Okay Uncle Chessman, Retropolis will be next. If I can get some peace and quiet tonight I'll give it a spin.

You mean you already have Retropolis? Well...just how many TFK albums do you have? Don't say you've been and gone and bought them all already? Well, if you have, I only have one thing to say to you - lucky girl!

(Strange how tastes change. Women used to always love G&T; now, it seems, many don't. Personally, I quite enjoy one!)

Hi Carl, it's strange but true that i haven't listened to The Flower Kings in several weeks now. The main reason is because i have been listening to the new Porkies and Sylvan albums.
This morning I played two (yes two) Steve Hackett albums back to back.

Might take a listen to Paradox Hotel later though wink

I can honestly say I've never had a G&T in my life - can't stand the smell!

Thinking album No. 2 might be Paradox Hotel now.

Any thoughts?

I think you'll find that it's exactly what we were hoping for wink

Very cool Nov! I'm on my third listen. Can't wait for it to be released! I'm a big fan of 70s style jazz fusion. These are just the group of people who can pull it off too. Thanks for the heads up! wink

I also love the link to the Pat Metheny gig with Karl Martin on sax as well. shocked

A nice bit of jazz-fusion is right up my alley, so to speak. Looking forward to it immensely. wink
