In the absence of a new TFK album this year, I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the new Transatlantic album, Whirlwind. A 77 minute epic sounds good to me! grin
(Glad to see Heather has at last got her hands on a TFK album. It may be her first, but it most certainly won't be her last!) cheesy

Taking yet another listen to Karmakanic's "Who's The Boss In The Factory" right now.
This is one hell of an album, right up there with any TFK album cool

It certainly isn't, but I'm slowly inbibing one at a time.

I have a few days R&R now, which will be as TFK-filled as possible. grin

Agreed Colin. All three Karmakanic albums are superb. Actually, I think, overall, my favourite is Wheel Of Life, but there isn't much in it. My favourite track is probably Entering The Spectra, but again, there are many candidates. Great band. wink

Having been prompted by Demo man, I played some Karmakanic today, both Who's The Boss In The Factory and Entering The Spectra. This means it's looking like tomorrow will see the turn of Wheel Of Life... cheesy

Been playing Agents Of Mercy some more lately. Definitely a grower. I know I've said it before, but it's true. A bit like The Sum Of No Evil, which didn't exactly hit me at first but slowly became more addictive. Roine certainly knows what he's doing when it comes to music. wink

Tomas was asked on another forum why he and Zoltan clashed and this is what he had to say:

(I've copied this with Tomas's permission)

Tomas Bodin said:

"Sure I can talk about it. This is the first time I'll give my version of the story. Normally I would keep my mouth shut but since this has been in the open air for some time…then why not.

What you all have to remember is that, from the beginning, it was me who wanted Zoltan to play in TFK. At that time he was so full of positivism and energy. I remember that we got stunned by his brilliant technique and great ability to improvise. I still consider him being a world class drummer when it comes to improvisation.

For a long time everything went pretty well. Then all of a sudden Zoltan changed. He became more and more negative. He started to criticise the guys in the band and preferable me. At first I neglected it all. I thought this was just a bad period. But, step by step all this turned more and more into an unbearable situation.. How can I describe it…? When you are standing on the stage you need every support you can get. For example, if you feel that you have this support from the audience, then this will help to perform better! That makes sense right? Now, imagine that you fee,l that one guy in the band really dislike the way you play! What kind of energy will that feed?

This was the clearly the case between Zoltan and me. Without any doubts, he really disliked my way of playing. And for me this is alpha/omega! Not that he must love my way of playing! But the unit, the band has to be tight.

Music is not an independent life form separated from the human interaction on stage! Music on stage IS love, peace and understanding! I know it's a cliché but it's the truth.
If a band can show this energy and the audience can receive it, then we are talking about magic nights! I'm sure you know what I mean!

At first I just tried to be professional but in the end I actually cried after some gigs. This had gone too far!
So in the end, I told Roine that he had to make a choice, Z or me… And of course I know this was a tricky decision since Roine is a huge fan of Zoltan´s musicianship. But as I see it, this case was not about being a musician, this was all about being friends! Still, I will give Zoltan my admiration. He IS one heck of a drummer! And finally, all this is behind now and I can truly say that I have no hard feelings what so ever! I hope this is bilateral!"

I feel that some day, maybe on the next TFK album even, Zoltan will return to the fold and help these guys make musical magic. I can't imagine why Zoltan would consider Tomas' playing to be inferior, because IMO the man's a keyboard genius.

This infighting is typical in most band's, though it's necessary to work through these types of problems in order to keep the peace and continue making great music.

I wish Zoltan and Tomas only the best and hope that they can get along well in the future.
