Received TFK's live in USA CD in the mail yesterday. It's called "Carpe Diem." Great live recording. They even give credit to Jim Harrell on the cover. He's the founder of CalProg here in California. The gig was played in 2006 in Whittier and mixed in 2008 by Roine. Marcus is on drums, not Zoltan, and he does a tremendous job too. One thing that stands out is the bass levels in the recording. Usually the bass on a live recording sounds either low or muddled, but Jonas sounds loud and crisp. Great job guys! cool smiley

Here's the track list -
1. Paradox Hotel 7:40
2. Psychedelic Postcard 10:45
3. Hudson Rivers Sirens Call 5:55
4. FishSoup (drum & bass-solo) 7:12
5. Pioneers Of Aviation 4:01
6. Just This Once 13:40
7. World Of Adventures 8:50
8. A Vampires View 9:53 (Quebec City Bonustrack)

Over 78 minutes of music! I wouldn't expect anything less from Roine and his bandmates.

I've also recently received Tomas Bodin's latest solo effort, "Cinematograaf." It's a real treat, I'm tellin' ya. Here's a great review! http://www.jerrylucky.com/reviews%20a-e_020.htm

It's a great album, isn't it Dave? Haven't played it for a while, but I remember the quality is superb.

As for Tomas's album, you're the first person I know who actually has a copy of that. You must give us a full review. I've looked for it everywhere, but find it hard to locate, apart from on Tomas's own site.
Where did you get it from?

It's part of your parcel going out this afternoon Carl wink I didn't realize you had Carpe Diem. It's in your parcel as well undecided You could give it to a friend I suppose smiley The Bodin album is fabulous! The audio quality is superb. You'll find out for yourself within the next week. I bought it from someone who was selling it on Ebay brand new in the case for $22.00. The seller was located in Illinois, so it didn't have to travel too far to get to me grin

I think that could be easily arranged mate. I didn't know you didn't have Carpe Diem. It's certainly worth having.

Now there's a coincidence! Our friends live in Wheaton, Illinois. We've visited them twice so far. I doubt you got the cd off them though. Not exactly their type of thing. They're more into Enya and new age stuff. shocked

Alright you lot kiss

Heard a rumour that Nov was up to his old recruiting tactics again, been instructed to get in the thread to make sure he doesn't overwhelm Heather shocked grin wink
Overwhelm her with CD's Carl rolleyes oh good grief wink

So hows everyone then?

Played Paradox Hotel for the first time in ages on the weekend, and it sounded just as good if not better than when i first heard it. Although they say your first time is special i know ......... laugh laugh laugh laugh

I'd forgotten just how great that CD is.

Great to see that Heather is the latest convert to the cause cool
Glad to hear you're enjoying TFK Heather smiley
It's a fantastic journey discovering their wonderful music and i envy you to be honest.

Over on the old forum when i first got into this thread in 2006/2007, little did i know that 2007 would be one of the most pivotal years ever for me. The music of The Flower Kings was pretty much the soundtrack of my life that year and for that reason they will always hold a special place in my heart.

I would echo the 'take it slowly' thing but i would say we all pretty much ignored that advice laugh laugh laugh
I tried to keep it down to buying one TFK CD a month and failed miserably laugh

I saved Flower Power till last ( Thanks Carl, good advice back then kiss) and was glad i did so. It became my favourite instantly and i consider it to be in my top 5 albums ever.

Yes, and even after all my galivanting with the likes of Dream Theater, Riverside, Porcupine Tree, Spocks Beard i'd still put them in 3rd place behind Genesis and Rush cool
Hope all you guys are well, nice to see some more TFK fans in here too smiley

Thanks again Nov kiss

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in totally exhausted and yelling: Holy shit, what a ride!

Nikki!!!
It's been soooo long.....(don't you dare!!!) wink

I thought you'd eloped with Hasse, as your sabbatical seems to have coincided suspiciously with TFK's...(you haven't, have you?)

Anyway, nice to see you here on one of your flying visits. I remember the good old days, when you were a regular on here...still, age comes to us all, doesn't it?
(Runs into the bathroom and locks the door quickly.)

Well, do drop in again soon, it really is great to see you again. In fact, it's bloody amazing some of us can still remember your name.... shocked

(I'm gone...) lipsrsealed
