I live in the central belt of Scotland near Edinburgh Nov.

I would travel to see them in England i reckon. Are there plans for the band to visit the UK then?

I'm sure they will at some point in 2009.

It'll be great to have a big get-together at one of the shows.

Who knows, we might even be able to tempt Chessman to join us smiley

Things are very quiet on the TFK front at the moment. I hope this means they are planning great things early next year, such as a dvd release, followed by a new album and tour.

Yes i hope so. I have been playing "The Road Back Home" in the car of late. Wonderful double album. The remix of Paradox Hotel is especially interesting. Two completely differing versions both very enjoyable. I am hearing an incredibly strong "The Eagles" influence in the remix especially with the vocals. smiley

Well, how does this grab ya?

New project Jonas & Roine
Tuesday, 29 July 2008
Jonas is currently writing music for a new album together with Flower King Roine Stolt. The album probably will be released at the end of this year, otherwise early next year. The style will be 'fusion' or also called 'jazz-rock'. Anyone who has been into TFK and Jonas' background knows that both musicians are influenced by jazz and rock music. It's obvious on several TFK albums and the Karmakanic albums as well. Roine's guitar playing is influenced by Akkerman and Holdsworth, among others, and Jonas by Pastorius of course. When the music has been written other musicians will be invited to join the project. This will be one of the most exciting new projects to wait for...

I think you'll find that Chessman and Nikki (at least) are in agreement wink

I agree, there's some fabulous stuff on there.

Unfortunately, some people (who obviously haven't listened to the album properly) criticise the album saying that there's too much on there and that CD2 is mostly filler. This is complete bollox of course as anyone who has giving the album the time and attention it deserves will testify.

Flower Power would have had to be at least a triple album in the days of LPs and most of it is incredible. How do they do it?

Roine is a genius basically wink

Emmm.........not too sure about the use of the word "boll*cks" simply because someone does not particularly like one of the FK albums. Surely, there is scope for disagreement between albums some like and others like less?

I love the FKs and have been there from the very start but like other bands there are albums I prefer over others. Personally, I seldom play FlowerPower and much prefer Stardust We Are and Unfold the Future to FlowerPower. I guess that means I am talking boll*cks then? grin

Remember, there are Genesis fans who destest the Lamb while others love it but first and foremost we all agree that we are fans. Similarly, I love Camel's last album A Nod and a Wink while other Camel fans do not like it - yet we all agree we love Camel and agree to disagree.
