I think it's time to update my own personal order of all the Flower Kings studio albums.

So, at this particular moment in time, here's how I rank them:

1) Flower Power
2) Unfold The Future
3) Paradox Hotel
4) Adam & Eve
5) The Rainmaker
6) The Sum Of No Evil
7) Stardust We Are
8) Retropolis
9) Back In The World Of Adventures
10) Space Revolver

So no change at the very top or bottom, but Paradox Hotel moves into third place, TSONE climbs a little more, The Rainmaker likewise, whilst BITWOA seems to be in freefall -all comparatively speaking, of course!

Always important to take time to consider this every 6 months or so Carl wink

So, at this particular moment in time, here's how I rank them:

4) Unfold The Future
5) Paradox Hotel

9) The Sum Of No Evil
10) Adam & Eve

I've got a funny feeling that mine hasn't changed at all. Could you have a look back through the thread and check for me please grin

I'm surprised that SWA is so low down in your list.

Being that I don't yet have Retropolis or Alive On Planet Earth, my list would rank as below......

1) Flower Power
2) Stardust We Are
3) Unfold The Future
4) Space Revolver
5) Back In The World Of Adventures
6) Rainmaker
7) The Sum Of No Evil
8) Paradox Hotel
9) Adam & Eve

I have a hard time with the songs Ghost Of The Red Cloud, Vampire's View, Adam and Eve, and Compassion. I don't think they'll ever grow on me.

The Road Back Home is unique as well, but in a great way, considering that Roine did some re-mixing on those songs.

I could probably make up a whole CD of TFK tracks that I will never like but that's fine when there's about 15 to choose from (including the doubles) wink

I do like "Ghost of the Red Cloud" but can't imagine myself ever enjoying "Vampire's View", "Adam and Eve", "Christianopel", etc, etc.

Those are kind of balanced with hours and hours of prog genius though wink

Hey Nov,
Just because I've 'lost interest' in TFK does not mean that I suddenly think they are rubbish. I was frustrated by TSONE as i felt it was a retrograde step after the marvellous Paradox Hotel. I'll get back to them I'm sure and I'm also sure I'll see them live if they ever play a convenient date or location.

Paradox Hotel is superb.
Space Revolver is magnificent.
Adam and Eve is surprisingly a consistent favourite.
etc etc.

That's one of the things I love about this band. Everyone has a different favourite, be it album, song, or band member!
Great stuff!
Over on the 'Garden Of Dreams' forum, one of the members said - and he was serious because I checked with him - that although he liked UTF, he preferred TSONE as he felt it was more consistent overall.
I was made up with that. Just goes to show the consistent strength of the band when it comes to songwriting. cheesy

The fact that there are a couple of 'throwaway' tunes on many of the albums is probably the reason why Nov has recorded his 'favorites' (hours long, I'm sure) as a 'best of,' of sorts.

I guess we all have phases on different bands so it's good to give certain bands a rest every now and again and then return to them with renewed enthusiasm.

Trouble is, it's hard to give TFK a rest. You're tempted to keep playing them on a regular basis!

Having said that, I haven't been playing them as much lately. Been on a Polish and German prog journey.

But, the time is near, the TFK ships are coming over the horizon, led by Carpe Diem.
Repel all borders! Too late! We are doomed captain, doomed! Those 21st century Vikings are plundering and pillaging again!
Weigh anchor! Kiss me Hardy. If you can find it! embarassed
Avast ye hearties! Hoist the mainbrace! I like the cut of your jib, Sir!
Oops, sorry folks, think I've had one of those brain storms again. And no, I'm not drinking. Only tea. So far... grin
