You might not fully appreciate them initially, but revisit after a few years (and suitable reverence) and you will be seduced by their brilliance.

Lovely album!

I played this yesterday on the way to work. It's a simply fantastic track and up there with any Genesis or Yes classic as far as I'm concerned.

I know it means a lot to you wink

It's Friday afternoon!!

I'm great!!

Except that Elspeth wants to do a car-boot sale on Sunday. I've never done one before but we've got a load of stuff chocking up the spare room. I see car-boot sales as the human equivalent of what dung beetles do.......everyone shuffling their old sh*t around.

grin

It appears you're in good company, Nov! You might want to put up a sign similar to this to attract people to your car-boot sale

As for what I'm doing this weekend...........well, today (Friday) is my daughter's 37th birthday, so we're going to have an ice cream party, with everything to make the best banana splits in the world.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we're celebrating our granddaughter Analisa's 4th birthday. She wants hot dogs, so Grandpa will be BBQ'ing some real tasty franks with lots of chili, cheese and onions. YUM! cheesy

Nov has such a unique, picturesque way of describing things, don't you think?
Dung beetles indeed!
Mind you, we could all do with a good clean-out at times, let's be honest! shocked

If, by any chance, you're selling any of your Flower Kings memorabilia, do let us know, old chap. Just think of the space you could gain by selling it all to me -at a knock-down price of course. wink

I married my wife 9 years ago, and she's 9 years older than I am. So I'm now the age she was when we met. I'm 50 and she's 59. Our 40-year-old son and 37-year-old daughter are hers from her first marriage.

I haven't time traveled since around 1982. I still remember what it was like too. Can't remember much else though. Oh, and if you think having kids that old is bizarre, we also have 11 grandchildren between the two kids shocked I love 'em all smiley

That explains it then! cheesy

My sister's eldest daughter is 42 - she lives in Canada actually - and her eldest is 18, so I've been a great Uncle, the equivalent of a grandfather, for 18 years.
That makes me feel old sometimes! grin

So what's the story on the 2 songs on Alive On Planet Earth:
-Nothing New Under The Sun
-Three Stories

Are these tracks they wrote and never released, solo tracks, covers?

Hi Obe.
Great album, 'Alive On Planet Earth'. Stunning in fact.

'Nothing New Under The Sun' is from Kaipa's second album, 'Inget Nytt Under Solen', from 1976.
It's just an English translation of the title track.

'Three Stories' is from Tomas Bodin's first solo album, 'An Ordinary Night In My Ordinary Life.'

Two more great albums, by the way! wink

AOPE also boasts one of my favourite Flower Kings covers. cheesy

Ah, I thought Three Stories sounded familiar. Should have known that one.

I also have been having a 'delve' back into FK mainly playing the 'Meet The Flower Kings' live cd , a couple of tracks I haven't heard before 'Humaizzimo' and ' Silent Inferno' which definately seem like growers.
Wonderful versions of 'stardust' and 'Truth' I have to say. smiley

Humanizzimo and Silent Inferno - growers? Good god man, they are superb classics! grin

Silent Inferno is one of my favourite FK tracks, and it has one of my fave Stolt solos on it. Brilliant stuff.
Humanizzimo is classic Stolt, and pointed towards the way he was to take the band in the future.
Wonderful compositions, the pair of them. wink
