Just watched Meet The Flower Kings for the first time. The music was great, but I didn't like the way the DVD was set up, extras interspersed with the show. I also wasn't really into the odd visuals they had going on.

I was really impressed by Daniel Gildenlow as a 3rd vocalist. Too bad he isn't still with them. sad

But that got me interested in Pain Of Salvation, so I'm listening to the MP3's on ProgArchives right now. They're now on my list of stuff to buy. grin

Back on TFK, I listened to a semi-random assortment last night before bed, and noticed yet again how much of songs that I said I loved, I didn't really remember hearing before. TFK will be reveling itself to me for many, many years to come.

If you haven't already seen it, don't miss Daniel Gildenlow's contribution to the DVD "Transatlantic - Live In Europe." He is absolutely an integral part of the show, his guitar work ,keys work and vocals combined.

Really! I expected so much better from you Nov, (and from Obe as well).
I never mentioned flashing. Do you have to be so base, so low of tone, so affected by the underbelly of city life? I don't know what this forum is coming to.

Anyway, it wasn't Gordon, it was Andy Summers - one of his reggae riffs got caught in my underpants.
So there... tongue

Charmed, I'm sure. Let me down gently, why don't you?

By the way, if the Police were to rewrite some of their songs now, for the modern age, do you think they may have a song entitled: Message In An Email? grin

Taxi ordered now as well.... rolleyes

Or maybe, on the other hand, if TFK were around in the 1960s, they may have retitled certain songs and album titles; ie:

Sputnik Revolver
The Drugs Will Set You Free
Hippies We Are
Smoking The Greenhouse

I know, I know, it's utter sacrilege. I'll impale myself on a bed of nails, then castrate myself. Are you happy now? rolleyes

That was some good stuff.

I'll have to put the Transatlantic DVD's on my list.

Actually, I thought they were very funny, Dave.
No need to impale yourself on a bed of nails.....
just the castration will be fine. grin

Been listening to Unfold The Future today. Dare I say this - apart from the odd song on my ipod this is the first TFK album I have listened to in its entirety for what seems ages, possibly a couple of months embarassed

After not listening for a while you really begin to appreciate how good their music is grin

Exactly my feelings!
It's not that you forget the music, it's just that you notice the different layers, and the things hidden in them more... smiley

TFK are like a very fine wine.

You might not fully appreciate them initially, but revisit after a few years (and suitable reverence) and you will be seduced by their brilliance.
